I purchased this bowl and it has helped a little. She still manages to inhale the food, but a tiny bit slower now, as she has to navigate around the 3 posts to get it. It would be better if they made an extra small size. Also, the bowl is very light and not slip resistant, so she pushed it all over the place. dog bowl  On: 2008-07-04my beagle inhales her food without chewing. This bowl forces her to slow down a bit! Its hard to change a 10 year old beagles eating habits. Great idea... but not for Pugs On: 2008-06-13Id actually give this 5 stars if I had a dog with a snout. It didnt seem to be as deep in the photos as it actually is. While it does slow him down, Hoops is unable to get to the last fourth of his meal and it looks like the pillars are almost poking his eyes. I tried it a couple of times with him. He got very frustrated and flipped it over the first time. I secured it the second time, so he just gave up with 1/4 of his food left and cried. If it was half as deep itd be great... Make a version for snub-nosed dogs please! Creative and practical bowl On: 2008-06-03This bowl is perfect for little dogs who "woof down" their food and need to be gently forced to slow it down. It apparently helps with gastro-intestinal problems and other general problems like burping, flatulence, etc. I only had two issues with the small bowl -- it was too deep for my small (13 lb) smushed-nose French bulldog to use. Also, I normally dont buy plastic dog bowls because they often harbor more bacteria than sterling silver or metal bowls. It wasnt for us, but I think this bowl is a quality, useful product for the right pet household! brake fast bowls On: 2008-05-18it works the brake dish slows both of my pets down but somewhat expensive tho but worth it Rose Works Great On: 2008-02-29We love this bowl for our 3 small dogs. They would hoover up the food, walk over to the carpet and vomit it all back out. That has not happened once since we bought these bowls. Yes the material is light plastic- but our dogs arent chewers... yes the dogs push it around the floor when they are eating- but it makes meal time more interesting. For the price, its a great deal and it 100% solves the problem. Brakefast bowl really works  On: 2008-02-24I have tried many things to slow down my king charles vacuum cleaner, but this is the one that works best. Forget about placing the ball in the bowl or high bowls. When hes finished his dinner after using this bowl he doesnt look bloated like previously. Highly recommended. Really does slow down the chow... On: 2008-02-14I bought the small Brakefast bowl for my three year old miniature schnauzer who took literally 45 seconds to snarf down 1/2 cup of dry kibble. He has a lot of GI/allergy problems, so I thought it might be good to slow down his eating and give his stomach time to digest the food as he eats it. Plus, I was worried he might choke because he was eating so fast! This bowl really does work. It now takes him about 2 minutes and 30 seconds to eat- which is still fast, but much better than 45 seconds! The bowl is very durable and washes up nicely in the dishwasher. Ive put mine on the top rack just to make sure it isnt exposed to too much heat. I would highly recommend it. It works On: 2008-02-01I have a Beagle, a Cocker, and a Dacshund mix. The medium works for the first two and the small is perfect for the little guy. Postive: My dog would eat so fast that I was sure he never chewed. All three dogs eat at the same time and the Beagle would always finish first and then pressure the others for thier food. This caused the Cocker to eat a little faster too. I am glad I saw these on a TV show recently. They work!! My Beagle has slowed down considerably. He HAS to slow down just to get to all the bits around the center prongs. I hope it keeps working. We have been using it for 2 weeks and I just ordered more for my niece to use with her 3 dogs. Needs Improvement: The bowls need to be weighted down. They are too light. With the dog having to move his nose around the prongs, it moves the bowl more than a standard bowl. Adding some weight would help. My dad is working on a raised platform to use with the bowls. That will give the benefit of feeding the dogs at their best level AND holding the bowls in place on the stand. I highly recommend these to anyone with dogs who eat so fast that they regurge thier food as soon as they are done. Amazing bowl On: 2007-12-14This bowl is great - it changed my dogs dinner time from 7 seconds into a good two and a half minutes. Now he doesnt gag for thirty minutes after hes finished dinner. Well worth every penny. Good Idea On: 2007-10-17I think this product has significantly impacted my dogs eating process. She is a "gulper" and this slows her down. Plus, I have the peace of mind knowing that I am taking some action to control her eating. Dog bowl greatest On: 2007-10-11This fast break dog bowl DOES live up to its claims. Working very well for our dog who is a gluper...and sometimes barfer. Very satisfied with overall performance of product. Works Like Magic On: 2007-08-14We have a little boston terror that used to gulp her food so fast shed throw it up again a few minutes later. We tried different shaped bowls to no avail until we got the Brake-Fast bowl. What an immediate difference it made. The bowl slows her eating to where she no longer is able to gulp her food and she hasnt gulped-barfed since we got the bowl. A simple solution and a great product. Thanks!
