![]() UlcerGard (omeprazole) Oral Paste Syringe (2.28 gm) By: Merial Average Rating: 5.0 Total Reviews: 1 More Information This product works! by: Anonymous On: 2007-10-05 If your horse stops eating for no reason you can determine, becomes edgy during workouts or isnt acting themselves -- it could be ulcers! Some horses simply produce too much stomach acid, (just like people). Too much stomach acid causes ulcers and they are extremely painful. When a horse is in pain - bad behavior results. Ulcergard is made of the same ingredients as Prevacid for people. Simply put, it helps shut down the acid pumps in the stomach so ulcers can heal -- then prevents them from coming back. This stuff isnt cheap, so use it according to mfgr directions. I had my horses stomach "scoped" so I know for sure she has had them and is susceptable to them coming back. I give her 1/4 tube each day shes in training or when shes facing a stressful situation (like trailering, new stall, show, etc.). Currently Amazon has the best price on this product. |
