![]() Richell Freestanding Gate, HS By: Richell USA Average Rating: 4.5 Total Reviews: 7 More Information Expensive, but worth it This was the only barrier that fit in a 47" wide opening, looked good, and is sturdy enough to withstand a jumping poodle puppy. If a pressure mounted gate wont work for you, or you dont want to install hardware in an opening, this is the gate for you. Best Gate Around! The Richell Freestanding Gate, HS is everything it says it is and more! Easy to assemble and move, folds flat for storage AND looks outstanding. In fact, everyone who has seen it has commented that they had never seen such a beautiful and functional dog gate. It is freestanding, so if you are looking for a absolute secure barricade, this gate would not be for you. I have two dachunds that my gate restrains well over-night, but I would never use this gate to enclose them all day if I was out of the house. The padded runners are solid and non-skid, which makes this gate hard to knock over--even by the most determined dog. I just love it! helpful I am using this gate in an unorthodox way to keep my kids away from the oven/stove. MY kitchen is too wide open to fence off the actual openings. It serves its purpose to a degree as an indication for them to stay away. They can still push it aside but at least I feel somewhat safer when they are in the kitchen and I am around but not directly in front of the stove. It works great as a freestanding gate where other gates that are more full proof just wont work. I also use it at the bottom of my stairs as a deterrent, though not full-proof. Otherwise, I would have to destroy the banister that swirls open to install a gate. Awesome Dog Gates The Richelle Freestanding gate is an awesome product. Its sturdy, attractive, easy to assemble and very versatile. Unfortunately I started with the shorter size which my 12 week old cockapoo puppy hefted himself right over the second day so I exchanged it for the higher size gate and while its too tall to walk over easily you can step over if you do it slowly. I read complaints from other buyers that the gates werent adjustable enough for some buyers needs but I actually like that you can fix it where you want it and it stays put. I also discovered that with minimal creativity the gate is very adjustable. I wanted to gate off one whole end of my kitchen where the crate and toys are and still have the option to open the gate easily in the center for going in and out to clean etc. So I bought two large gates, expanded them almost completely and left one right and one left footed side piece off each unit. The feet would have been annoying in the center of the room and the gate is quite stable without them. I joined the two parts in the middle using the cool little sliding latches Richelle provided for the side pieces. I had to redrill a couple holes on each side of the frame but it was a piece of cake. The gates look great and they keep my house and my puppy safe and sound. Just size up if you have any doubt about your dogs climbing skills. Oh one more thing ...this is a heavy product so you cant beat Amazons free shipping! Richell is THE BEST There just is no better quality than Richell. A gate might seem ugly or cumbersome, but I get compliments on my Richell. They are just excellent quality! And the gate keeps my dogs safe. Keep looking before you buy this. I am very disappointed in this gate/barrier. While the advertising and claims made imply that your dog or dogs will be segregated by this gate, I have to say that the claim only applies TO VERY SMALL DOGS. My little dogs couldnt move the gate, HOWEVER, I have a 30 lb. mix who was able to barrel through the barrier with little or no effort. KEEP SHOPPING BEFORE YOU DECIDE ON THIS GATE. Doggie Gate Review - 27" height I purchased this gate because of its height and adjustability. Its perfect for my needs. It has kept my Jack Russell puppy contained in the kitchen and now prevents her from climbing the steps. I have found that the style of the gate is perfect for wrapping around my bottom step too. If you have a smart dog, you had better lock the sides because theyll quickly learn that one side of the gate is moveable and break out! |
