Its spiral design makes it easy for them to hold it for chewing. And, although its sold as a treat, it does aid in oral hygiene, helping to keep your dogs teeth clean. Doggy Delight On: 2008-10-04My dogs love these!! We usually give them half at a time (they are smaller dogs) and it keeps them entertained for up to an hour! These treats are wonderful!! Doggie Crack-10 minutes of joy then its gone!!  On: 2008-09-26While my pup absolutely loves these they dont last long at all. I have a 6 month old Beagle mix and the normal size Flossie will last about 15 minutes until its completely gone. I would LOVE to be able to find something that holds his interest like Flossies but lasted longer. He doesnt seem to like rawhide and even turns his nose up to certain biscuits! The only good thing is the local shelter is getting alot of free treats donated from me! :P You can find these cheaper than they are here with free shipping if you search around, but paying over $100 for 50 of these is still quite high for such a short lasting chew. Came back up...bloody.  On: 2008-07-17I was really disappointed with our experience after all the good reviews flossies have. I gave one to my dog and after he finished it he threw it back up and it had blood on it. It either cut his gums or scratched his throat pretty badly. It wasnt in big pieces either. They were pretty small and all soft (chewed). Needless to say Im still on the search for a nice, safe chew for my dogs. My (2) pugs absolutely love these! On: 2008-05-02Ive been buying these treats for my 2 pugs for several years and they still go crazy everytime they see the box. They are long lasting (for my pugs anyway), which is great because it keeps them "busy" while hopefully helping to clean their teeth. Every evening they sit by the cabinet waiting for me to bring them out, and they happily chew away for an hour or so. I especially like them because they are natural, and not loaded with lots of fat and fillers. One note, if you have a smaller dog like my pugs, you may want to take away the flossie when it gets down to the last couple of inches as my dogs tend to just swallow it whole... make sure you keep the water bowl full with plenty of fresh water nearby. Toss N' Treat Flossie On: 2008-04-20My dog loves his "Flossies". He tosses them in the air, rolls over on them, and loves chewing on them. So, its like an edible toy!! My Dog LOVES these On: 2008-02-17These are the absolute best things I have bought for my dog! We got them when she was a puppy and it was a savior. I really feel it got her need to chew on things out and not on shoes, table legs, etc. It is also a good babysitter! When we had our dog as a puppy and at night we would want to sit down and chill out at night but she would be ready to go so we give her one of these and she would sit there for at least 2 hours chewing away. Merrick is an excellent company with quality products that I am confident using. I give my dog one of these every couple days, that is how long it takes her to go through one. Great Dog Treat! On: 2008-02-15We tried this product from our local pet store and our finicky dog was crazy about them. They are quite expensive to keep purchasing individually. We also tried similar looking less expensive products which was a waste of money. To get a great deal you need to purchase the 50pk box. Great product, great service. Great treat for teeth On: 2008-02-11Merrick flossies are the only chewable treat that my dog loves. He will not chew on rawhide products. His teeth, for a seven year old sheltie, are in great condition with very little tartar on them. My Chihuahua's love these!!! On: 2008-02-08My Chihuahuas love these and have enjoyed them from puppy stage all the way through adulthood. Over the last couple years I have purchased several boxes of 50 count because they are defintely my dogs favorite. Merrick Flossies Dog Treats On: 2007-11-11Our Daisy dog loves these treats! I tried the cheaper ones but he knows the difference and wont chew anything but Merrick Flossies. Merrick Flossies - White Dog Bone On: 2007-10-30White Dog Bone is a very good source for Merrick Flossies. They are right on the ball with delivery. I am pleased and will use again. my dog's favorite On: 2007-08-27My dog loves these flossies and he is picky about treats and things to chew on. My vet also said they are good for him to chew on because they help prevent plaque build up on his teeth. Furbaby Mommy On: 2007-08-26I have an adorable American Pitbull Terrier who is a FLOSSIE JUNKIE !!! He gets a small Flossie EVERY morning after his breakfast. It is the highlight of his meal and "we" make a big fuss about it. Believe it or not,he prefers the smaller Flossies over the Phats! I like that they are 100% tendon and a part of the body that he ( Spencer ) would consume in the wild. Because I do feed him raw, I like to keep his treats consistent with his diet. PetFoodDirect (via Amazon) really stands behind their service. The first shipment was supposedly delivered by UPS but either wasnt or was stolen from my porch. Another case was shipped pronto and with no questions asked. My pups were desperate for their Flossies and the service was really appreciated. They dont smell great from a human standpoint, and sometimes she gets too enthusiastic and swallows too big a bite-but we ALWAYS supervise to make sure nothing untoward happens. The only drawback outside of those mentioned is that her treat prices exceed what we pay for our own! Not for all dogs On: 2007-03-01Today I took my small dog to the vet for emergency removal of part of her Flossie from her throat. Same caution as rawhide bones exists with these. Some dogs handle this type of chew well and others do not. This dog had previously done well with a Flossie-today was not her day. Floosie Dog chews On: 2007-01-11My sheltie LOVES them. Although Bonnie never had any serious problems with Greenies I read about dogs choking on them and I know a few dogs even died. I realize dogs can choke on any product but I began to get very nervous. Flossies are great! Each Flossie lasts a lot longer than an individual Greenie did and they appear to be digested better by my dog. The crude protein in Greenies states "not less than 52 per cent" and in Flossies it states Crude Protein, minimum 89.73 per cent!" It is a low fat treat that my precious "baby" loves. By the way, in fairness to Greenies, they have come out with a wonderful "SMART BISCUIT" that is very digestible for dogs, as well as a treat called BARX, which is a very healthy soft snack stick. I dont know what makes them so much more tasty but they are defintely prefered over all other chews. We buy them by the case. Older dog On: 2005-10-03My Basset 12+ yrs. old does wolf these down in minutes however at her age it is totally worth it to me too. It is her very favorite treat in the world. Whatever makes her happy is all I that I care about for her. Little Dog, Big Reward On: 2005-09-28We have a 6 lb yorkie that cant get enough of the Flossies. We cut them in two and he spends 30 minutes or so chewing a half piece. Yorkies are nortorious for having dirty teath resulting in the need to have a vet do an annual cleaning. With the Flossies, our little guy hasnt had to suffer this difficult task. Were happy, and hes happy. Haven't known a Dog who refused a Flossie On: 2004-12-29I purchase Merrick Flossies regularly for my two Westies as well share them with my "dog park friends" of various sizes, breeds! I have not known one dog who refused such addicting treat! Larger breeds would normally woof this size of Flossie down in a few minutes while the smaller breeds much longer. |
