He first fell in love with them when he selected one of the smaller sized ones in a local pet store. It was his reward for enduring a bath. After paying almost $5 for one- I was thrilled to find the larger size with a much smaller price tag. Now Charlie doesnt need a special occasion to have one- he can enjoy it anytime. excellent and made in USA On: 2008-02-08After reading the Amer. Vet. Med. Assoc.s warning to veterinarians that some jerky products made in China were causing kidney failure and fanconi-like syndrome in dogs, I have been looking for alternate chewies for my dogs made in the USA. That isnt easy as almost all dog treats seem to be made in China. I love my dogs too much to risk their health by buying dog treats made in China. So I was thrilled to discover the Merrick dog treats- all made in the USA. My dogs love these Merrick treats and best of all I know they are SAFE for them. this particularbox of merricks texas taffy  On: 2008-01-28this is thr 3rd or 4th box of texas taffy. this box had a strange odor when bridget chewed them and they splintered which they never did previously. i hope that amazon will forward these comments to merricks,as i will, because i really do want to buy them for bridget again. i did notice that this box contained "taffies" which were much thinner than the other boxes were. Ponch the Pug LOVES Texas Taffy!! On: 2008-01-04OMG!! Ponch LOVES these! I had two rawhide big giant chews I gave him and boy did he enjoy those, but I started getting nervous because I know rawhide isnt good for dogs. I went to the pet store and saw the Texas Taffy and was overjoyed to find out they are good to eat! I tried it with my pug and he was so incredibly happy! Now I buy them and cut in half since he is so small. One TT will take him about 20 minutes to devour. He completly forgets I exist for those 20 minutes that he is eating his TT. On: 2007-10-21Our 2 year old canine has loved this treat for over a year now. I feel good knowing the Taffy is natural and good for her teeth. Our pooch likes this treat so much that if I ask her if she wants a "Texas Taffy" she will lead me to the closet door wher we keep them and sit, and then as soon as I pull the treat out she will run to her bed and lay down while she waits for me to unwrap it for her. After she chows it down she is sure to search around diligently for any remaining morsels. I have given Taffys to other pet owners as gifts and they always end up ordering some for themselves. Tip: because these treats are not cheap and she gets almost one a day, the last two batches we ordered we have cut in half with a strong pair of scissors to make them last longer - our girl is no less happy to receive her smaller sized delicacy! Texas Taffy a Hit! On: 2007-10-17I have two American Eskimo dogs and they both LOVED this treat. I thought a whole one would be too much for each dog, but each one finished their treat in 10 minutes or less! I also gave a few to my boss for his dog and "Simon" also loved the treat. A definite winner! Margaret My dog's favorite On: 2007-03-16I have to buy these in bulk because my dog loves them. They are her favorite treat and they are an easy chew. If your dog is an aggressive chewer they wont last long, but if your dog is a moderate chewer they will love them. They arent greasy and they are really healthy. Its also easy to break up the treat if you think its too long for them. I buy 30 of these every two months for my dog.
