Great price on an item he's crazy about     On: 2008-10-15

My 60 lb Ridgeback-mix is just crazy about these. By about 10:30p he starts anticipating getting his nighttime treat and he wont leave me alone until I give him his Greenie. I had a Sheltie-mix who didnt care for Greenies but this guy loves em. The vet says theyre good for him and weve never experienced any problems digestively speaking so if your four pawed friend is a Greenie fan, too, this is certainly a great price. Shipping was reasonable, as well ... particularly when ordering several boxes ... and quick.
Our Dogs LOVE These and We Do Too!     On: 2008-08-03

I have been feeding our dogs Greenie bones since they first came out and we have NEVER had a problem. I have German Shepards, Dobermans and medium sized hound dogs. They all love their GBs and I find that because our Dobie tends to be a "garbage belly" (meaning shell eat anything!), so sometimes she doesnt smell as nice as she should, really benefits from the "green" in Greenie Bones. I would like to know where "E. Antic" gets his/her information from.....as I can find nothing that says they are "deadly", except for those people that havent done responsible research (not just hearsay from some list). If your dogs are gulpers or greedy chewers, then I wouldnt feed them ANYTHING, especially RAWHIDE, that could be gulped and swallowed in large pieces or whole. Do we need to bring up "NYLABONES"????? Always be a responsible dog owner and supervise your dogs when giving any kind of treats. Please dont be afraid of Greenie Bones because of E. Antics post. You can buy Greenies in singles, so try one before you commit to a whole box. I have friends that have dogs that dont really like them and thats okay. My girls live for their morning GBs and I now give them Greenie "Smart Biscuits" for an afternoon snack. They love the taste and we love them for the benefits!!

I respectfully request that Amazon and Amazon members make up their own minds, and not fall to the fear mongers and ignorance amoung us. Always supervise your dogs when giving treats - after all, they are the animals and we are supposed to be the smart ones.....dont be afraid, do your homework, it always pays!
dogs love them     On: 2008-06-28

My dogs love these, and everything Ive read suggests that theyre good for the dogs, especially for the dogs teeth. One of my dogs sometimes wont eat her regular food, or will eat it slowly, but she will always eat her Greenies right away.
Great treats     On: 2008-06-25

Any edible bone can cause a dog to choke, but Greenies changed their formula about a year ago to make it more digestible. I love the product.
deadly     On: 2008-06-17

1.0 out of 5 stars Dangerous and Deadly, May 25, 2006

I have two beagles who love to chew, and greenies are highly compressed which woule make it a good optionfor my dogs. However because they are so highly compressed they are deadly. There is an overwhelming amount of research that proves they are not digestible, and do not break down. Numerous dogs have died from chocking and internal blockages. Luckily this was brought to my attention before I purchased any.

It really doesnt matter how much your dogs like them, statistically you dog would have an excellent chance of becoming seriously injured or worse.

If keeping your dog busy is the goal try a kong or a "busy ball". My dogs play with their kong and similar toys for hours or until they are too tired to play anymore. Additionally some busy balls let you record a message that is played when the ball is moved, even slightly, which also helps with separation anxiety.

If you want to treat your dog to something in the way of food, almost anything you can think of is safer than a greenie.

Also please note....there are many greenie knockoffs. If the treat is shaped and molded or looks like plastic, has fine details showing the company name or other designs, it is in fact a molded treat. Anything this highly compressed is absolutely deadly.

While even rawhide carries some of the same risks because it is so durable...it is a MUCH safer alternative to greenies.

I am actually surprised amazon even sells this product, and would go as far as suggesting to amazon users to petition them to stop selling it.
Yummy and Good-for-you, Too!     On: 2008-04-16

These treats occupy my dogs (quietly!) while they clean their teeth at the same time. The first time I tried them, I bought the large ones to cut in half so Id get more for my money, but believe me, it was definitely NOT worth the hassle. They are very hard and hard to cut. The "Regular" size is perfect for my 50-65 lb. dogs.
