  Solvit Waterproof "Hammock" Seat Cover By: Solvit Average Rating: 3.5 Total Reviews: 14 More Information didn't meet my needs  On: 2008-12-14I have two small dogs. This hammock did not work for my dogs. The material slide on the leather seats making the dogs very uncomfortable. Protects my car, Protects my Golden Retriever  On: 2008-11-27I would recommend this product to anyone transporting a dirty dog. My Golden Retriever no longer falls in the space in front of the seat when I must decelerate quickly. I us it in my Honda civic and it is fine; there is a bit of dip in the hammock in front of the seat due to the small size of my car, but it is much better than my dog falling in the space between the front and back seats. There are snaps on each of the straps designed to wrap around the headrests, but I keep the straps long enough to just lift over the headrest for an even quicker removal of the blanket when required. The only design change I would make is to not have the seat belt slots in the blanket, as sand and dirt will go through them onto the car seats. I often turn the blanket around so that the slots are towards the front and the pockets on the back, so that any dirt that falls through the slots will go on the floor and not on the upholstery. Duct tape might help. Very good value for the money  On: 2008-09-02This product is a winner. It traps the hair and dirt so it doesnt fly around the back of the truck (Toyota 4Runner). Its easy to get off and on when you want to put people in the back seat. Its especially helpful when you have to make a short stop...instead of the dog going down in between the seats and possibly breaking a leg, there is good leverage for him to stay on his feet. I thought it was a good value for the money. The only thing I havent done is washed it, so Im not sure how it will stand up to that, or how easy it is. Cover On: 2008-08-22I got it for my little 4 doors Lexus. Its a bit big but its okay; better than small. I have a golden retriever- 75lbs. Its good, it keeps the leather protected. It does have a little smell but i take it out after each use. Hammock Seat Cover is a handy item On: 2008-08-10it fit my car. It is durable. The hammock idea is a good concept as it keeps the dog off of the floor boards. He still tries to get in front but the hammock hinders him. I am very satisfied w/ this product. It has a strong chemical odor. I had to leave the windows of the car open for a while to let it air out after I first installed it. Good Idea but high rip potential On: 2008-07-24The concept of the product was great - it fit in my car perfect, tucked into the seats great but in about a week I saw that it had ripped in a perfect line completely accross the part that meets the bottom of the back rest and the seat - like it had been cut by a knife. No knives in my car... Basially useless to me now. My dog didnt do it and hes the only one back there. Its not a chewed spot because its straight as an arrow and not at the sewn edges so it either had a defect in this particular one or the product is "split" sensitive. So buy it if you have a little 4 pound dog but apparently nothing larger. sturdy and durable On: 2008-07-23This item is sturdy and durable, provides excellent protection to the car and can be used in different configurations to protect the interior. hammock seat cover On: 2008-03-15The seat cover works very well to keep the dirt and hair out of your car. Perfect for our bulldog On: 2008-01-01Taking an English Bulldog for a car ride can be like transporting a bowling ball in the back seat. The poor guy simply rolls off at every stop or turn. This seat cover is PERFECT. It protects the seat from toenails, dirt and fur, plus it protects the dog from being hurt. This is a great product for anyone who values their seat covers and their pet. car pet hammock On: 2007-11-26This hammock is great. I have leather seats so my dog could not ride in the car and all covers would slip off the seat. I bought the hammock for a trip and it was awesome. Did not have to worry about toenails going into seat nor the hair in my car. It also keeps him from sliding off the seat. Keeps my seats safe On: 2007-10-17I bought this product for my new puppy who is still in the potty training process. Many times before I had to go get my upholstery cleaned in the car. Not with the hammock seat cover. It is easy to clean!! The only downfall is that it does not fit so well in my smaller car. There is a lot of loose material and it doesnt attach so well without headrests on the back seat. But, it fits great in my SUV. unsatisfied  On: 2007-05-29My dog weighs 75lbs, about the size of the Golden in the picture, and the product ripped from its supports after just one week. She is a calm dog and the product did not undergo and undue abuse. Most of all, the smell is awful, even after rinsing and air drying. OK but very smelly On: 2007-05-07this product seems fairly well made but it smells terrible, like toxic. I have washed it twice and it still stinks. I am trying to air it out. I probably should have returned it right away but decided to try to desmell it. After 3 washings it still stunk and my husband complained of headaches...so we threw it away. horrible!! On: 2007-05-07It ripped apart within one week of using it. I need the company to contact me so I can get either a replacement or a refund. Easy to use On: 2007-05-07Easy to install, easy to take out... easy to use overall. Waterproof to keep the seats dry (helpful as my dog pants a lot while in the car).
