Using the product for 2 years now. Professional Groomer.     On: 2008-10-23

I began using this product 2 years ago because I love my big furry monsters: 1 berner and a border/golden mix. The ingredients are outstanding as professional products go. Hypoallergenic, no drying or irritating, all natural. When used properly (and I do recommend using some sort of bottle to dilute it), these products will give you the most incredible results. The solution sure is a REALLY GOOOD conditioning TREATMENT!!! It works by strengthening the hair shafts and follicles to not only loosen and eliminate dead coat, but also to prevent future shedding by increasing the quality of their skin and coat. When used as directed (every 4 to six weeks *And used properly*), this product delivers everything it preaches. After two years of it, I rarely ever vacuum my home, and I RARELY brush my dogs and have not used the furminator tool on them in over a year. Being a professional, I have the facilities to adequately "blow" out their coats which is were professional grooming can also play a huge roll. My dogs never smell like dogs except on those fun trips to the creek or the lake. Ive also used this product on my drop coated maltese to help strengthen and enhance the quality of her coat and it does a terrific job. Her hair is strong, long, silky, and beautiful. One other reason I highly recommend this product is for families with allergies. This not only reduces shedding, but when used more regularly (and again.... properly), ELIMINATES dander and dust! Highly recommended to everyone for just about any reason other than skin conditions!!!! Good luck!
Furminator deshedding formula shampoo     On: 2008-09-01

I am not pleased that I received this product. It seems that Amazon.com just could not let me get by with ordering just the Fuminator and not the addition of shampoo. I guess I was just not paying enough money. I am not a professional groomer and could never bathe a cat. The Furminator I wanted but not the shampoo. If I had sent back the shampoo, I would have had to pay for shipping which is about the same as the product itself. Maybe I did not order correctly. I will take the cat to be professionally groomed and use the product at that time.
jUST LIKE ANY OTHER DOG SHAMPOO     On: 2008-08-09

WHILE QUITE EXCITED ABOUT THE FURMINATOR BRUSHES, I FOUND THIS SHAMPOO TO BE ABOUT LIKE ANY OTHER DOG SHAMPOO. IF IT WAS SUPPOSED TO "HELP" THE DOG SHED, IT DID NOT CARRY THROUGH. ALSO, IT DID NOT SEEM TO LEAVE MY DOGS FUR SMELLING GREAT OR SOFTER THAN BEFORE USING THE PRODUCT. SAVE YOUR MONEY TO SPEND IT ON THE BRUSHES!
helps a lot!     On: 2008-07-16

I use this along with the shampoo, and I love it. I have two pugs, who shed endlessly, and I would venture to say that the two products (and I also use the Furminator comb instead of a regular brush) cuts the amount of shed hair blowing around my floors and furniture in half or less. I dont beleive anything completely stops shedding, but this helps tremendously.
It has a light floral scent that fades within hours.
They delivered me the Shampoo not the Solution     On: 2008-07-15

My first mistake
a. I thought the package includes both the shampoo and the solution
b. They delivered me the wrong item, instead the solution they delivered me the Shampoo.

But everythings ok, as long as its furminator i love it!
really works!     On: 2008-07-03

I hesitated to purchase this because of price..but wow....does it work! I was actually shocked at how much undercoat came out with the this solution and the Furminator tool. Im sure our cats are greatful..even tho they werent that happy at the time!

Helped with extreme matting     On: 2007-10-28

Used this product along with furminator comb. Together it took care of some matting problem with my cat. It is pricey and I am uncertain if it did a better job than less expensive brands...but it did work.
deshedding *solution only*     On: 2007-10-15

I didnt try the shampoo, so this review is for the "solution" only. let me cut to the chase: 1.) its very thick and hard to spread, 2.) leaves a gummy film on my dogs coat, and 3.) doesnt do much "deshedding". I had previously used a tropiclean desheding shampoo and solution that a friend (pro pet groomer) gave me to try and it worked fantastically; nice soft coat & much less shedding afterwards. since that product is available to groomers only I decided to give this a try what a mistake! so now I have a whole bottle of this sitting on my counter that Ill never use.

Good Tool     On: 2007-04-22

I havent tried the Shampoo, but I have used the FURminator comb on my long-haired Dachshund. The tool gets out an amazing amount of undercoat, great to use in the spring time when my dog starts loosing all his winter coat. I highly recomend that you use it OUTDOORS!! The first time I used it inside and had to vaccuume up all the fur that came off him. Also, be sure to wear a shirt that you dont mind getting furry, again... lots and lots of undercoat comes off with this product.
Just another conditioner     On: 2007-04-09

After investing in the FURminator De-Shedding Tool (which was the best $50 Ive ever spent), I was expecting similar miracles from this "deShedding" Solution. However, after receiving it and reading the ingredients, it is apparent that this is just a very good conditioner. It contains many of the same ingredients you would find in a very good salon product for humans, but nothing special that will help with the shedding problem. So 3 stars for being a good conditioning product, but I held back 2 more stars, because it wont affect the amount of hair that comes off my dog.

My poochies ought to be bald, this stuff is GREAT!     On: 2007-02-13

I have a Jack Russell Terrier and a Rat Terrier. Both have that short wiry hair that sticks to EVERYTHING, and they make little hair cobwebs throughout our home as well. Brushing wasnt working, frequent washing wasnt working. It was too expensive to buy this furminator treatment and have both dogs groomed too. I was at my wits end.

I purchased the small blue Furminator tool with 1.7 inch blade along with the Furminator Shampoo and Furminator Solution. I washed both dogs with the shampoo for 5 minutes each as directed. The shampoo smells like Pina Coladas which made the Rat Terrier lick-this is bad as soap does upset dog tummies. But a TON of hair came off of both dogs after the shampoo, about a fist-full each. Next, I slathered them up with the solution, which smells like roses or some other floral scent and left that on for 5 minutes. Again, another fistfull of hair came out with the rinse! I allowed both dogs a couple of hours to dry all the way, then came back and used this tool. The Rat Terrier wouldnt go for it, he hates all brushes. But the Jack Russell Terrier loves being brushed and let me go over her whole body except the sensitive areas with the tool. And let me tell you, I got a wad of superfine undercoat fur the size of her head off of that dog. And the only hair shes leaving around the house is hair that was already all over the place prior to the Furminator treatment. I dont get hair flying off her when petting her anymore, and even the Rat Terrier that wouldnt let me use the tool on him is still not putting out a lot of shedding.

I would highly recommend the Furminator products. They are expensive and somewhat time consuming to use, but they work as advertised.

Hairballs Beware!     On: 2005-12-11

This is an amazing product! After shampooing my border collie mix, I applied this product and I was absolutely AMAZED at the amount of hair that she lost! This practically eliminated the hairballs on my hardwood floors! I definitely recommend if you have a dog that sheds a lot.
