I couldnt be happier with the gate! It was easy to install and it performs its job.
You Get What You Pay For     On: 2008-10-02

I should have remembered the old adage you get what you pay for. I admittedly was looking for an inexpensive gate and this one seemed like a bargain.
The bumpers are supposed to be adjustable but they do not actually screw into the unit. They just sit in the holes so they are NOT adjustable.
I finally got the item to fit into my stairwell opening (the adjustable size claim is not 100% accurate. Your space must be a size to fit one of the sets of predrilled holes the knobs fit into) and after opening and shutting the door twice to make sure it swung over the carpet, it SNAPPED RIGHT OFF! Perhaps I merely received a defective one but I can assure you that I am taking it back to my local PetCo today.
Save yourself the aggravation and spend a little more to get a better product.
It did arrive very quickly and was in one piece.
poor     On: 2008-09-30

This product is just awful. It arrived cracked, which really wasnt its biggest problem. The bumpers to hold the gate in place were totally inefficient, because the holes for the pumper screws were drilled too large. I returned it immediately.
Easy to Use. Very good for Small Dogs     On: 2008-09-10

The four pressure knob/bumper (or whatever you call it) have independent adjustment, that makes this gate easy to use and install. The height of the gate is enough for our mini doxie; you could also raise the gate a little bit (enough not to let your dog go under the gate) to get some height. however, i think if you utilize the max width of 44" the gate would be a little flimsy; but for the price its very good and just what we needed.

The height of the gate and the no-drill easy-to-install feature i think are the selling point for me.
Works fine for the price     On: 2008-08-02

I bought three of these to use as barriers. I have a beagle and llasa apso that like to get into the litter box and will eat anything. Out of the box, I thought I would have to return them but after installation they didnt seem to be quite as flimsy as I feared. They have held up well despite my knocking into them many times before getting used to them. Overall, they are a good alternative to the more expensive versions.

My cats are able to jump over the barriers without any problem which was what I wanted.

The little doors are cute, but I dont really use them.
Perfect for our Pembroke Corgi     On: 2008-07-03

We purchased two of these right after we got our 3 mo. old Pembroke Welsh Corgi. We were desperate to try something after too many trips over our too-tall baby gate and tiring of adjusting the darned thing. I was worried that our bouncy puppy might be able to jump over the Four Paws gate, but our solution was to raise it about two inches (low enough so that he cant go under). Weve had the gates for about a month, theyre perfect and exactly what we needed! We can all easily step over it (even the kids), the cats can hop over, and we simply open the handy little gate when we want the pup to have access to the other areas.

Unlike other reviewers, we have had no problems with marring of the doorways or difficulty in adjusting the gates. Our puppy did try to chew the gate at first, but I just sprayed it with a little bitter apple and that solved the problem. We have found the gates to be well-made, sturdy, attractive (as much as a gate can be) and quite easy to use. Thank you Four-Paws for making our lives MUCH easier!
great for small dogs and puppies!     On: 2008-05-31

I have a baby yorkie and these doors are great (I got 4 of them)! The pressure mounts are really sturdy if you invest the time to make sure you set them up correctly, I can push and pull the gate and it wont even budge! The gate is only knee high so its just an easy step (not to mention its good exercise too!). I wont recommend this gate for medium size dogs because they can jump and hurt themselves, its best for puppies and toy breeds.
Gate     On: 2008-05-27

The best gate for the price. You can scoot the gate up a bit if your pet makes it over as he (she) gets older. Very sturdy - great price.
Brilliant doggy gate!     On: 2008-05-17

This gate is very well made, sturdy and looks really nice - perfect for the little four legged friend(s) in your life. The wooden balusters are beveled and so the quality of this items construction belies its cheap price.

Set up took a little tweaking because, as another reviewer found, it doesnt seem to initially sit tight against the walls. Thats because this gate sort of works the opposite to other doggy gates Ive had. Instead of the gate being pressured apart from the center, it works the other way around by squeezing the gate together from each end.

Once Id jigged the width setting and played with the rubber stops this gate was solid and nothing short of a good kick would knock it down. The large rubber feet on either side prevents damage to dry wall too.

The door is a nice extra preventing you from having to remove the gate if you want your little one to come through.

Love the gate, love the price!
Four Paws Walk Over pet gate     On: 2008-04-05

Four Paws Walk Over Wooden Gate for Small Pets The pet gate is perfect for us. We have a small pom and it keeps her in the kitchen while it is easy for us to step over. Im going to buy 2 more for other rooms in the house.
Nice affordable gate     On: 2008-03-08

This is a nice affordable gate however, Ive only had it a month now and I cant get it to stay up. Its a perfect size for my puppy.
Excellent gate, but my 3 lb dog could get over it     On: 2008-01-06

My dog is able to climb over it. He is a tiny 3 pound Maltese, and still gets over.
Love these!     On: 2007-11-06

I ordered two of these. They are great! Not too expensive yet they look much nicer than the metal or plastic gates. Excellent quality; they dont make marks on my doorways where I have them set up. The door in the gate works nicely, too. Easy to use, nice looking, great quality!
Great starter gate for puppy     On: 2007-08-03

I purchased this gate to keep my new yorkie puppy out of certain areas of the house. It is easy to set up; after several clumsy tries. This gate works well for small dogs or puppies It may not keep a medium or bigger sized dog from jumping over, as the gate only reaches about knee level (on a human). Other than that the gate is great for the value. The gate looks nice, although the wood is kind of flimsy. It your dog likes to chew, this item may not be the best product. The swing out door is a nice touch, although it took my puppy several tries to figure out he can actually walk thru the gate door when its open.
wood gate     On: 2007-03-09

This gate is really nice. Good quality and easy to install. It keeps my dogs out of a room, but I can just step over easily. My big dog wont jump it either.
Great Product!     On: 2007-02-24

The Walk Over Wood Gate is a practical, good looking alternative to traditional baby gates. Installs easily. Even our elderly parents walk over with ease. The built-in swing door is especially nice -- the dogs can easily pass through without having to dismantle the gate. We did have to return one of two gates because it arrived broken. The vendor arranged for a pick-up and our replacement arrived just fine.
Just what we needed     On: 2007-01-18

Before we had the standard flimsy, hard to maneuver childs gate. We were always tripping over it or knocking it down. This gate is sturdy, easy to install and just the right height to keep our two dogs separated and yet not have the humans in the family falling over it. Thank you!
Nice looking, nice height, easy to use!     On: 2007-01-15

This is a great gate for a small puppy or dog. Pressure mounts are easy to use and dont damage walls. Length is easily adjustable, even for fairly wide doorways. Its short enough to step over and for our cats to jump over, but keeps puppy contained. Also, price is reasonable for a well-made wooden gate.
Walk over wood gate - 30"-44"X18"     On: 2007-01-12

This would be a great little gate if it would fit tightly in my doorway. I am not sure if the little rubber screw knobs are defective or the holes in which they screw into are defective. They do not tighten up against the door jam enough for the gate to stay firmly in place. It is loose and gets knocked over. I have not contacted the seller about it however. Luckily, I have a little "chicken" dog who hasnt dared to jump up on it and knock it over. But sometimes people walking over dont lift their foot high enough and it falls down. Otherwise, it would be absolutely perfect for a small house dog to be contained in a room.
Great gate     On: 2007-01-11

Was just what we needed to keep our two dogs out of an area. Service was great and fast.
Thanks!
Great Size For A Small Dog     On: 2007-01-10

I needed a gate that allows me to keep my small dogs out of a room but short enough to step over and to allow my disabled cat to get over. The gate is perfect. It is secure in the door which allows my disabled cat to land on the top and then go over. It could be stained to match any wood type or painted. I no longer bang my shin on the gate when I step over yet my dogs cant jump over into the room. My only complaint is that the pin to latch the door is cludgy.
REVIEW YOU SENT TO ME FOR THIS PRODUCT     On: 2007-01-04

TERRIBLE - THEV GATES HAD TO BE SHIPPED TWICE AND THE QUALITY IS POOR - I WOULDNT EVEN SELL THEM AT A FLEA market.
