![]() Pet Gear AT3 All-Terrain 3-Wheel 60-Pound-Capacity Pet Stroller, Large, Red Poppy By: Pet Gear Average Rating: 4.5 Total Reviews: 20 More Information Love it I just posted a "negative" review on the Happy Trails buggy. We tried both in the store. My dog hated the Happy Trails - much too wobbly - and he LOVES this one. Its very well built, the handle is comfortably high for my 65" husband. Its easy to maneuver, took it out last night on gravel and grass and had no trouble. Its very easy to push - not as heavy as it looks. The wheels are nice and big. It does collapse - requires a bit of finesse but not that difficult. Once collapsed, it locks shut and has a grip on the side to hold it. We did purchase a small bed to go inside. I absolutely recommend it. FYI: My dog is between 23-25 pounds My dog loves it. I own a 6 year old miniature Schnauzer. We live in an area where the temperatures reach 115 degrees in the summer. We also have a problem with coyotes attacking small dogs. After 3/4 of a mile he easily tires and there is the danger of him becoming dehydrated. This is when the pet stroller takes over. He loves looking around and enjoying the rest. His safety is also ensured inside the stroller. Great storage for water, keys, etc. I appreciate the ability to continue walking and the extra workout I receive from extending my walk and the extra 25 pounds inside the stroller. The stroller maneuvers bumps and turns quite well. THE CADILLAC OF STROLLERS This is the easiest stroller to control with the ergonomic handle! I had 3 small dogs in the stroller with the hood open so that they can see all, & all can see them. I had 1 small dog in the basket below & a package in one hand. I was able to steer with no problem. Going down curbs is so easy, because the stroller never tilts downward because of the large front wheel. Narrow enough to fit everywhere! Two bottles of water & one cup stay in the tray attached to the handle bar. My dogs were attached by their harnesses to an adjustable extension that turns any leash into a dual dog lead,(purchased at most pet stores),which is approx 12 inches long & wrapped around each side pole of the stroller, just in case they jump out. No problem though, because they didnt want to come out. The compartment can be zipped closed in which it is netted all around for them to see out. Also comes with a rain cover. So easy to fold either of two ways- handle bar or side bars. SLIDE-PUSH--ITS FOLDED--or UNFOLDED--WITH ONE HAND. LIGHTWEIGHT to pick up & put in trunk. This is the best stroller Ive seen! I wish I had purchased it long ago. The steering & the large wheels make everything easier & for a smoother ride! excellent product This stroller is described in one way, excellent, well built and sturdy, easily assembled without hazzle, very confortable for the pet, ample room for pets supplies, very secure as it has brake for back wheels and a disengage for the front one, thanks Amazon. Broadens My Two Kitties Horizon I purchased this for my two cats because they seemed bored being cooped up in the house all day and needed something other than my daily play sessions with them. I love the stroller, although one of my cats hasnt gotten use to it yet. The fat one didnt want to come out after I took him home. I gave the unit a 4 because of the second Con and the fact that the first unit was defective due to how tightly they design the front. Pros: - Excellent size for two cats (one fat one and one normal size) - you can probably even get three normal-sized cats in it comfortably - Its so easy to push, pull, and go up and down stairs with (I live on the 2nd floor) - there is a certain "give" in the wheels when going up and down stairs as if the unit had shocks - a very nice feature and feel. - Has ample storage - tray holder, the under cab pocket, and the tray on the bottom under this pocket - Ride is very smooth - Its nice that it collapses, even though it doesnt fold flat - front cab has to be unzippered for you to collapse - Excellent brakes, though a little difficult for me to release once engaged - Great design in that it has both a front and back entrance for your pets - Its nice to have the rain cover just in case, though some may have a hard time figuring out how it goes on. I store it in the pocket under the cab. Cons: - Assembly instructions are incomplete so you must guess a little - Front cab is a bit tightly assembled so it is very difficult to zipper the front (this was the case on both the strollers I got--the torn one and its replacement). Since I dont fold the stroller, I keep the cab zippered in front and let the cats in the back. There is more "slack" on the back entryway and zipper. - Takes up a lot of space when folded; although the fact that you can fold it is a BIG plus First stroller I received had a tear in the mesh. I noticed it after I assembled the entire unit and was ready to zip my cats in. So be sure to check that the stroller mesh is not defective before you assemble the unit since unassembling it is was worse than assembling it. Amazon sent me another stroller immediately. Overall Im very pleased with the stroller. Probably best on market--Like it Just put this stoller together tonight. Overall, I think it is a very good stroller, certainly much better quality than most pet strollers. I also like the appearance and it pushes easily and smoothly. Theres plenty of room for my pomeranian. Im not certain it can safely hold 50 lbs as has been suggested. I think it will do very well for my needs ( a pup with a broken leg thats on the mend) And it will be of use after hes healed too. I would agree with others that have said the instructions are not well written. Also, I was totally unable to attach the tray (not really a biggie), not because of an inability to figure out how it should be attached, but because it is going to be extraordinarily difficult to snap on--maybe slight design issue. Great Dog Stroller I purchased this stroller a month ago and it has been great. We have 2 Cavalier King Charles Spaniels and one has a weak knee so tires out during walks so this stroller has been great for long walks. This stroller is well made (I think worth the price as it goes over all terrain and steers like a dream) Both our dogs love to ride after they tire out of course. We purchased this because the dogs would tire out during long hikes through the park so this was a great purchase as we usually can push it empty with all our stuff (water bottles, leashes, etc) then the dogs will jump in when they are tired. This stroller can be left open or zipped shut..my dogs love it to be left open so we just tie their leash to the handle as it does not have a clip to secure them..but thats no problem you can still attach the leash to secure them. COULD IMPROVE DESIGN I had the Happy Trails stroller first. My cat really liked it but you cant do any serious walking with it because its small with small wheels. This AT version is a step in the right direction and could merit 4 or 5 stars but the windows out of which your pet enjoys the view (half the point of the trip for your pet) are small and the net material is sturdy tho hard to see thru. Easy to assemble if you throw the directions away.(almost worthless) and basically functions well and is an attractive design. Just really need to make the windows larger and more see thru otherwise your pet may feel clostrophobic. It still is probably the best option on the market at this time so if you can get a good price, say 149.00 or less, then go for it, or else wait for improved design changes. This item has enriched our lives! I bought this item in red a couple years ago. At first I was embarrassed to be seen walking my dogs in a baby buggy, but my two tiny little maltese are so delighted to go that they sit by the stroller and bark until I load them up and go for a walk. Consequently, I have lost 15 pounds! The walk also gives me an opportunity to take some really pretty pictures. Also, people find the idea of the stroller "just too cute!" and they stop and speak with me or smile and wave when driving by. Strolling my dogs made me more out and about and now I have several new acquaintances. We sometimes go "offroading" onto the grass and through the mulch with no problem at all. The stroller has held up so far just fine for me. I did have to spray lubricate the wheels for squeaking, and put a safety pin at the closed end of the zipper to avoid it coming apart. My water bottle bounces out of the tray so I just put it in the handy cargo area underneath. I also carry an extra long sleeve shirt in there as well as a squirt bottle of water for any stray dogs and to hush up my dogs. Does it get any better than that? We LOVE this thing! I bought this for my beagle (show puppy), as we go to a lot of shows and when on the road, we like to go places... Well, it is so great that I now use it at the show too--we put his grooming equipment in the bottom tray, and he stands in the bed while I get him ready. Before and after the class, he just sleeps in his bed. So simple! I used to be the only one there with one of these, but now after a few shows, others are catching on, too. My kids say that this stroller is better than the one I had for them when they were babies--and they are right. This is stable, easy to steer, etc. Oh, and when I get another show beagle, she will fit in, too. Such a deal! (Oh, and I paid full price for mine, so the Friday sale price is amazing!!!) Works - but the brake slips Im using duct tape to keep the brake bar up - it makes a clicking noise if I dont. I would return it, but its too much of a pain to get back in the box and ship --- works well now though, and my cat does enjoy it. Directions to set up are awful though - and some of the parts werent matching up right - but function wise its great and Im able to take my cat on a walk at the same time as our dog. Puppy Love This was a great purchase. It has made taking our "girls" out with us so much easier. Now we just need to change the laws and store policies so that we are welcome more places. My money spends anywhere, but I am more likely to spend my money in a store that welcomes my Maltese and Shih Tzu. Puppy Love This was a great purchase. My money spends anywhere, but I am more likely to spend my money in a store that welcomes my Maltese and Shih Tzu. Pet Stroller Im not allowed to walk my dog in the senior community where I live, so I bought the pet stroller so I could walk my 20 lbs. schnoodle (1/2 poodle, 1/2 schnauzer) to the park, rather than drive. It didnt take long for my schnoodle to learn to jump into the stroller although it takes quite a bit of effort to get him to come out of the stroller when we get home as he loves being rolled about. Ive been able to take him into stores while hes in the pet stroller, as well. The only difficulty is that my fingers are not strong and I have difficulty collapsing the stroller when its time to put it in the car. I have no difficulty, however, in getting the stroller to stand erect when I remove it from the car. My only other criticism is that the rain shield is confusing. I havent been able to figure out how its supposed to go on the stroller and there are no instructions. And the stroller is a bit heavy for me to lift. But the stroller is sturdy and my dog seems comfortable in it. Its created a sensation where I live and at the park in that folks seem to expect to see a baby and are always surpised to see an old dog instead. It was not too hard for me to put together by myself although I did have to have my son help with putting the plastic piece that went on the handlebars. Great! I received my stroller yesterday. I barely finished putting it together when my one cat (whos is usually afraid of new things), jumped right in it. He didnt even complained when I zipped it up. Perfect time for a test drive. This stroller is very easy to handle and seems to have a smooth ride. It appears to be made very solid. I hope it will get much use. Great Pet Stroller I just purchased the Pet Gear All Terrain Pet Stroller. I previously though that pet strollers were really silly products, but when I purchased a new puppy, I realized that I needed a stroller that would allow me to take the puppy along while I exercised my other dog. I highly recommend this stroller, the large wheels which easily turn in all directions makes it easy to manage one dog and the stroller. The entire unit moves across sidewalks and grass very smoothly so that jogging with any dog under 50 lbs is easy. The design has large compartments for water bottles, pets dishes and food, in addition to any articles that I want to take to the park. In addition, the pet compartment is roomy and well ventilated and has additional weather protection covers. My puppy could see everything through the large front and back panels and play with her toys. The only disadvantage is its size when folded. The stroller collapses and has good brakes, but the front wheel prevents the unit from collapsing flat, which can take up a lot of room a car. My Cat Upgraded To This Stroller The first stroller I bought for my cat was the Pet Gear Pink Happy Trails Stroller. She loved it. I enjoy power walking so I wanted something I could walk faster with and go offroad with. We are so happy with the Pet Gear AT3 Stroller. My cat loves all the room (easily could fit 2, maybe even 3 cats),and the smooth ride. Pet Gear did a great job with all their pet strollers. You can see mine pictured on my cats catster page: [..] We have a Catster "Super Stroller" Group for cats and even now decorate our strollers. Pet strollers are not only for dogs !! Quality, well-made stroller accomodates multiple small dogs I l o v e this stroller. I have 3 bichon frises (small, white, fluffy dogs)that are 15 lbs., 20 lbs., and 22 lbs. The stroller enables me to go for l o n g walks and take the dogs, too. Two dogs lie down (or sit)in the stroller, while one walks on leash and I rotate the dogs as they tire. No one has to be "carried" when theyre "tired". I can also put all 3 dogs into the stroller (dogs sitting up) to go into an air-conditioned store, or other cool/medium temperature-wise location. However, I wouldnt put all 3 in the stroller in warm weather or for extended periods of time--they might get too hot being so close together. I chose the blue-colored stroller, thinking we might draw less attention with this color. Needless to say, 3 bichons get lots of attention, anyway. People do double-takes when they discover my "kids" (instead of expected children)in the stroller, and happily seek out their other family members to come and see us. The stroller is very easy to push, steer, and turn. With the large wheels and rear shocks, the ride is smooth and comfortable for the dogs. (Have you seen those mothers with kids in a jogging stroller with front wheels that dont turn--the kid gets jostled every time the mother has to lift the front of the stroller off the ground to turn the stroller!!) This is a quality product. (The company that makes these strollers makes childrens strollers.) The stroller is very well-built and sturdy. Its easy to collapse to put into the trunk of my(mid-size)car. The only difficulty we had putting it together was the last thing--getting the cup tray to snap onto the handlebar. Using a rubber mallet, my husband was able to attach it. Price-wise, there is no cheaper price than buying directly from Amazon. I did my homework (Petco, Petsmart, Ebay, other internet pet stores, and local pet stores). P.S. Remember to allow yourself extra time to load the "kids" and their things into the car, and then into the stroller, to get where youre going on time. Of course, its easier time-wise with one dog...(For those of you with adult children...brings back memories, doesnt it!) Solid Construction\Easy to Use We have a 30 lb rescue cocker (Gus) that needed exercise, but couldnt keep up with my other dogs for a full 1 hour walk. So hence the search for a pet stroller. Full size baby strollers didnt recline far enough and the dog would jump out occassionally. Most pet strollers I looked at were too small or flimsy for a 30 lb cocker. The All-Terrain model from Pet Gear works perfect! It was easy to put together. I can fold and unfold it with one hand while holding a leash with the other. It fits in the trunk of my mid-size car. (Tip, unlock the front wheel so it swivels.) Gus can sit and lay down comfortably. I can push it with one hand and it doesnt weave. Im 57" and I can walk and jog comfortably behind it. My foot occassionally hits the brake bar, but not enough to be annoying. It manages fine over grass and dirt terrain. A few cautions: The back wheels started to squeak off and on after about a week. Putting a little lube on the axels during assembly might be a good idea. It says it is for dogs up to 60 lbs. Im sure it can hold the weight, but a 60 lb dog would be a little cramped. Im not a "foo-foo" dog kind of person, so I like that it looks like a baby stroller and most people dont even know Gus is inside. Overall, an A+ to the people at Pet Gear! Well-designed We are using the Pet Stroller for two small dogs (less than 10 pounds apiece.) It is well-designed, easy-to-use and appears durable. It folds up easy, and while it does take up a bit of space, it should easily fit in most car trunks. It is very useful for taking pets to the store and to the mall. Sampson's Mom says Great Buy I know,You think,A dog stroller!! But No Kidding this stroller is awesome. At times I take my dog out in this stroller just so we both can get some fresh air but w/o the hassle of stopping at every bush for a bathroom break. He really seems to enjoy it.I think its a little bulky for a 90 Honda Accord trunk but I can always fit it in my back seat too if need be.If its someone pondering on the price,Its a little pricey but Ill tell you its easy to install and if you like to take your pet out and about it is definatly a GREAT buy. |
