![]() Innotek ULTRASMART REMOTE TRAINER, 300YDS, 2 DOGS By: Innotek Average Rating: 4.0 Total Reviews: 6 More Information Innotek URT works like a charm! After trying everything under the sun to control my dogs jumping on people while at the dog park I finally resorted to the remote training collar. (Shes a Boxer/Rat Terrier mix & can leap 6 feet straight in the air from a standstill to lick someones face!) What a difference! I have only been using it for a few weeks & already she is at least 80% better. Now she will run up to great a person & just lean into their legs or sit instead of assaulting them. I tried it on my bare arm at the level I am using for her (#3 of 9 levels) and to me it just feels like the sensation you would get if a fly bit you. Not "painful" just a bit sharp & annoying. She already knew that jumping was an inappropriate greeting (but also knew she could get away with it at the off leash area!) so as soon as she starts to jump up at someone all it takes is a quick "reminder" to get her to put her feet back on the ground. No more totally ineffective screaming & yelling at her from 30 feet away! Hooray! Our park outings are much more fun for both of us now! Works well...when contact is made My remote always seems to say "L" when I am pressing the button. Its supposed to be the sign of a low battery...however it always says that, even when the battery is new. Aside from that it still seems to work with the collars. I had to cut the hair on my Labs neck for the probes to make contact, but once that was done everything worked great. I gave 3 stars just because of the quirks I had to figure out to make it work a little more efficiently. Overall, its a good item and does the job. Probably saved Jake's life and my sanity. My most recent gift is Jake, a beautiful blue eyed Siberian Husky. We hit it off immediately with only one problem. If Jake ever got off the leash he was gone with the wind for about 30 minutes, smiling back at me and wanting me to play chase. I talked to owners of 3 other Siberians and a Malamute and they all had the same experience. These dogs have to "run the wild out" and then they are ready to behave. I came close to losing him to oncoming traffic before I got desperate, researched, and bought this kit. I have only had to use stimulation 3 times (level 3 then 2, had to trim his fur where collar contacts bc VERY thick fur, also I can stand level 4 on bare leg without divulging too much information) and Jake realised that I was serious when I told him to come back. Now we have great walks on leash to a big open field approx 1 mile from the house where I turn him loose and let the ponies run. He will return upon request and seldom wanders more than 100 ft before he finds an excuse to let me catch up. We both love our walks now. Watch the DVD because it really has some good steps to work through. Cust support will work with you. I wouldnt worry much about lightning knocking out the transformer as previously stated since the collars do not have transformers to knock out. This person was either trying to slam Innotek or perhaps entered their review for the wrong product. The CONTAIN AND TRAIN fence system DOES use a transformer and no, they will not warranty it unless you buy and install the grounding accessory. Always call the company and discuss the item before purchasing anything online. This collar has turned the corner for Jake and I ! dog trainer The dog trainer works great. The dogs responded as soon as I put it on. I use the tone part more then the shock. I never use the shock part anymore just the tone. The only down side is, when I first started using the collar for both dogs I was disiplining the wrong dog because I had it set to the wrong one. So instead of shocking the dog that needed discipline I was shocking the one that was good. Works and doesn't hurt. This works as advertised. We were hesitant to use this but while researching and talking to others we realized it was the right solution. After 2 days of only using the number 1 setting and the number 2 setting once or twice it now works with only the tone. The dogs no longer bark at the fence, dig, or stray. We did remove the smaller contacts and replace it with the larger after the first day. We also tried them on our arms and it wasnt painful. Does what I want it to Please note that this review is for the IUT-302 ultrasmart remote trainer for 2 dogs. This is the system that comes with a remote control and two collars - it is not a containment system or a bark control system. This is the system to help train your dog. This system does what I hoped it would do for me and my two dogs. I like the +2 feature, and the tone only option. I also like that its the collar the emits the tone, not the remote. This way if I want to give one of my dogs a positive tone, although the other is still misbehaving they wont both get the positive reinforcement - only the dog I intend to. The +2 option is useful for those times when my dogs are being REALLY stubborn, particularly at the off-leash dog park. I find that it helps me get my dogs attention, and that is really what it is meant to do. It doesnt hurt them, but it does surprise them out of their stubborn moods they get in. I have tried the collars on my arm at the levels I use on the dogs and it doesnt hurt. It surprises me, even though Im expecting it (Im giving myself the correction) and that is what it is meant to do. It just gets their attention. I can get their attention much easier than with a collar and leash alone, especially if they are off leash. If they are off leash, and in their own little worlds, sometimes I think a bomb could go off and they wouldnt ever notice, let alone hear me and my commands. But this helps me get their attention back so I dont have to go off chasing two dogs all over a park who really dont want to load back up into the car to go home. My only complaint is that every once in a while when I go to use it the remote wont come on. I have tried re-seating the battery, shaking it a little, tightening the door, pushing buttons, holding it close to the collars, and even putting a new battery in. Hours or days later though when I go to use it again - voila! Itll work just fine without a hitch. The system is easy to use, easy to set up, and has a lot of good training information with it. Their website also has a good training video to use with the collars. beware warranty claims; not for outdoor dog use We bought this system from another retailer for our two large-sized outdoor dogs. This comes with a 1-year parts and labor warranty, which we read carefully. Beware this claim. The transformer blew on this system and the company wants to claim lightning damage, so wont warranty it at all (we dont believe there was any lightning damage, but since we cant claim we are right, they want to claim they are). If it were under warranty, it would cost $18 to replace the transformer - $2 more than a new transformer. They also want to provide a new wall unit and an additional surge suppressor (rackin up the bucks). We know enough not to fall for these claims and purchased parts to repair the unit elsewhere. While reviewing the information ONLINE at Innoteks site (this was nowhere in the information we received nor on the retailers site), we also learned that the collars are not to be worn for more than 12 hours at a time or risk an adhesion on the dogs neck. Thats certainly not why we purchase this unit, which we considered top-of-the-line, especially with our dogs in an unfenced area 24,7. This was not what we expected, and the customer service after the fact, plus the actuality of their 1-year parts and labor warranty, leaves us extremely dissatisfied with the unit. We now use it ony to allow our dogs to run for awhile we are outside, which was not the intent of the purchase. |
