This low gate is the perfect height for my Havanese puppy, and for me to step over. It is very sturdy, and best of all, it looks attractive. The wood matches the furniture in the adjoining room.

I have two yorkies pups. The size of this gate is perfect. I like the first one so much I have since order two more. The gates allow me easy access to the area of the house I do not want the babies to be in. I can step over with my hands full. Its great.

The picture is VERY DECEPTIVE! Pay CLOSE attention to the demensions. We purchased 4 of these, we thought they were attractive and would be easy to step over. WRONG! They are just as tall as a regular gate! It wasnt a week after we installed these that I ended up falling over one, right on my backside! NOT GOOD. This is a STATIONARY GATE, hard to move. May be good for TALL, TALL people? We found these useless and put them back in the boxes and down in the cellar. We went out and bought the automatic open gates and are much happier. Now the dogs and the people are SAFE!
Id say buy this gate ONLY IF YOU HAVE GOOD Homeowners insurance!!!

Dont let the price stop you from getting this gate. This gate fit my delimna perfectly. I have four cats and a large Shepherd. My problem developed when my 18 year old cat started to have troubles jumping over the old, standard pressure baby-gate (the cats have their own small utility-size room where their "stuff" is and where they can escape to and relax safely away from "the beast"). So, I needed a gate with a door in it and, to my suprise, actually found one. The door in this gate, by the way, is a little larger than the picture looks but it is easily removable if that option fits your situation - it just lifts off. The quality of this gate is exceptional and well worth the money. The gauge of the wire is great - it is of a high quality heavy, duty dog crate gauge with a black epoxy type coating. The wood is solid. It is not a quick release gate, but can easily be removed by quickly loosening the four large adjuster knobs. However, it is low enough that someone can easily step over it, so the need to remove it is diminished. The gate is actually more like a piece of furniture than a pet supply. I will not need another pet gate for a very long time ... if ever. I thank you Richell, as does my old cat - this will help her greatly as she gracefully grows older!!

We have 2 mini dachshund puppies and a 6 y/o 45lb Chow/shar pei mix, and 2 children 7 and 9. Standard gates were too difficult to step or climb over for the children (and adults!). These gates are perfect, we got one for each doorway in the house. The big dog can easily jump over it (she is allowed anywhere in the house). The puppies use the little door (when I open it) to go from one room to another so I can keep an eye on them. Sometimes the big dog feels the need to squeeze thru the door, which looks really funny. I would recommend these gates to any one with small dogs. Very easy to install, and the wood/black metal looks nice with any decor.
