Purchased two of these carriers for a household move from Tucson to Hawaii. We used the carriers both for auto and air travel with no problems. I was at first concerned with the plastic twist locks used to fasten the halves of the containers together, but everything fit very well and seemed solid. This was tested in several days of travel, everything came through with no damage and both cats arrived with no issues from several legs of air travel and Hawaiian agriculture department inspection.
