![]() Halti Training Head Collar Medium Average Rating: 4.0 Total Reviews: 6 More Information walking without pulling, at last! This collar is fantastic in helping your dog learn to walk well on the leash. Humane and effective. You may need to teach your dog to wear it without fussing. Part of this can be done simply by desensitizing the dog to the head collar by having the dog wear it around the house (supervised). Love it and so do my dogs!! I bought the Halti a few years ago for my lab/shepard mix, it works great he stopped pulling, and he loves it. Then we got a chocolate lab so walking both of them became a challenge and I soon got a Halti for him. Now are daily walks are fun for for them and stress free for all of us. As soon as I grab their Halti they get so excited and even sit to have it put on. When I first introduced it to them we tried it on in the back yard, then took a walk around the block, and every day went a little further so eventually they associated the Halti with something fun. I recommened it to everyone! Awesome! Stops pulling! I have a 100lb Rottweiler... needless to say he is very strong! He used to pull me all the time. When I got pregnant I needed to be extra careful when I took him out. THIS IS THE PRODUCT! It is very easy to attach and halts them whenever you need them to stop or go in a different direction. I recommend this for all people who are having trouble with their dogs pulling. I love this and I will continue buying them until I can find a decent dog school! Awesome! Stops pulling! This collar basically attaches to the head and pulls the head around if he tries to pull. Since he doesnt like that, this collar works really well to keep him from pulling. At first he really didnt like the feel of the collar, but by starting at just a minute or two occasionally he got used to it. Also, I gave him treats when he wasnt pulling. I think this collar is definitely worth a try if you are tired of your dog pulling. Works great on other dogs, not mine, start on puppies I tried this on my adult dogs, border-collie/retriever mixes. They are much more high-strung & wild than previous dogs, plus they set each other off. I have seen this product work great on many other dogs. Maybe if Id tried when they were puppies. Mine never could and I tried the Haltis many times over the years--I dearly wish mine could be so pleasant or safe to walk like those other dogs. One would scream in the middle of our street, stand on his hindlegs and pull it off with his paws. He kept doing it. Youd think Id tortured him. The other puts up with it for 5 minutes, then twists out of it like lightening, then hes running down the street. If hes walked by himself, he might put up with it for 20 minutes before twisting out of it. When the dog does keep it on, it is much easier to walk them--they cant pull as much or drag you, like with a harness, regular collar or choke chain. Ive also tried in the past positive reinforcement (treats), graduating to choke chains, then prong collars. Next Ive seen Cesar Millans show, so Im going to try to wear them out with backpacks or bikeriding. Too harsh, didn't work for my dog! I gave this 2 stars because although this DOES make the dog stop pulling, my 3 yr. old beagle just couldnt get used to it. He literally made himself bleed on walks around the yard trying to pull it off with his paws. He got himself so worked up that I had a hard time getting him to settle down just to get it off of him. My husband tried it with him also and it just seemed inhumane to us. Our Jack Russell hated it also but I do think she could get used to it. I guess it would probably work better with puppies. Ill be selling them at my next garage sale or on amazon! |
