Over the counter....and it works!     On: 2007-01-03

I am so grateful that there is finally an over-the-counter remedy for tapeworms that is reasonably priced and works with one dose. Im a volunteer with a dog rescue group, and frequently have flea-infested dogs as fosters. My vet, even with a discount, charges almost $40 PER PILL for Drontal. When I stumbled on this new Farnam product, I had reservations about its effectiveness. But Ive now used it twice, and with 100% success after only one treatment. I have only positive things to say about this product.
D-Worm Works and Saves you a trip to the Vet and the $$$     On: 2006-02-16

Our new puppy had (operative word, here, HAD) tape worms. It was obvious. They are very visible. Although we had treated him for round worm at the vet, he still had evidence of an infestation of some kind of worm. I called our vet. They told me I had to make an appointment to see the vet and bring a stool sample. I would have to pay for the vet visit, the treatment, and go to the hassle of getting a stool sample, and driving our puppy to the vet during my work day. I did some research and found out that D-Worm (Praziquantel) is how the vet would treat tape worms. Tape worms look like grains of white rice in the stool - I verified that what our puppy had was tape worm through my own research. Since the treatment is readily available without a prescription, and tapeworms are very easy to diagnose without a microscope, I felt confident in administering the treatment myself. And guess what? It works. Within hours there were no worms in my puppies stool. I am very pleased. Anytime a product actually does what is says it will, I feel the need to recommend it. So - if tape worms are a problem for your dog or puppy, try D-Worm by Farnam. It will likely be a time and money saver. Of course, if you have any doubt that tape worms are the culprit, a trip to the vet is in order...but if you know tape worms when you see them, this is the product to make they disappear very quickly. And who cant appreciate that?
