Rescue from Girls Hair on the Carpet and Rugs!!!

In simple words, if you have girls with long hair in the home and all over the place you are dealing with their hair, this is your rescue! What you should do is just first use the rug rake to gather all the hairs and then vacuum. Your carpets/rugs look like new. The only thing to mention is that its not made for carpets that their surface is not even. I think a softer brush with wider tooth might help with them better.

It's not the angle, it's how you hold it

Its not so much that the angle of the rake is odd. Its more that, as you pull it closer, you change how you hold it. Avoid doing that. Use short strokes.

I agree with other reviewers that complained about handle coming unscrewed very easily but other than that, it works, its simple, easy clean-up so I am glad I purchased it. And its still less expensive than the $100 vacuum I bought that doesnt pick up pet hair at all!

The cat owner's little helper

This rake REALLY picks up the cat hair- and human hair as well! Its also very lightweight. The only improvement Id make is to lengthen the handle a bit- for us tall people.

Yes this works. The only thing is every three sweeps and you have to screw the brush back on. It keeps screwing off so after doing one small area youll be too aggravated to keep going.

Rug Rake

I have a Newfoundland, which looks like a big, black bear...and sheds like a big, black bear. This rake does an AMAZING job picking up hair-I had no idea how much pet hair gets imbedded that goes unseen. The only negative is the construction of the handle. When using the rake, the head of the rake will come loose and the periscoping handle will begin to collapse multiple times before you are finished. It doesnt take more than 5 seconds to retighten, but it is annoying and an inconvience. Also, the head is only about a foot wide, so if the company begins making a larger rake, I would reccomend it.

Works great at getting pet hair off the rugs and carpet, but the angle of the rake relative to the handle is not quite right and makes it a little difficult to get a good raking rhythm going. I find going in arcs instead of a straight motion best. If it werent for this Id give it 5 stars.

We own a Himalayan, and our vaccum cleaner was no match for the long cat hair deep in our carpet. We purchased the Rug Rake on a whim, and it has worked wonderfully.

I agree with another reviewer who mentioned that the design doesnt maximize contact with the carpet, but the rake still picks up a ton of hair and is quite effective.

My hound-shepard mix sheds worse than a 500-cat army. The rake pulls so much hair out of the carpet its a real life saver. The reviewer that said its "a wire dog brush on a handle" is right, but wrong that it doesnt work. Thats exactly why it works! One quibble is that I feel that the brush head will turn loose a bit easily, but otherwise this product is great, especially for the price -- a much better deal than buying a new vacuum.

This product is simply a wire dog brush attached to
a handle. The product in no way rakes through your
carpet to reach imbedded dog hair.

I could not believe how much pet hair was in our carpets and rugs... after using the rug rake our carpets/rugs looks as good as new. I would highly recommend this items to anyone with pets. Very easy to use.

I have two Corgis who shed like crazy all over my carpet and after I realized my vacuum picks up about 5% of the dog hair I decided to try this product.

A couple short sweeps along a strip of carpet and 90-95% of the pet hair came off the carpet!! It took me awhile to do my 1000 square foot apartment, but the carpet looks great and I got up so much pet hair it amazes me that my dogs have any hair at all still left on them!

I agree with the previous reviewer that the angle is a little odd. I hadnt thought of it until reading the review. For me this is a life saver (and for my vacuum). It seems everything in my house sheds and a quick sweep with this first not only "refreshes" my carpet but keeps me from unclogging hoses and beater brushes. My only problem with this is that I need four more.

This is a great invention for pet owners. It works well, but the angle at which the handle is mounted causes the rake head to jump as it is scraped across the carpet. To avoid this, you must tilt the rake up at an angle that utilizes only about 20% of the rake heads surface. It is, however, a handy tool for quick pick-ups.
