![]() Muttluks - Fleece Size XX-Small By: Muttluks Average Rating: 3.5 Total Reviews: 2 More Information Not Durable! It worked ok for the first few days after we got it for our dog to play and walk in the snow and on the pavement with snow/salt. We realized that these boots are extremely hard to clean by hand. The salt and sand get stuck on the bottom of the boots because the bottom of the boots are not smooth. They feel like suede/fabric. Unless you toss them in the washing machine after every use, it is very hard to maintain them and dry them. After using for a few weeks, the bottom of the boots began to break. There are holes on the bottom towards the front of the boots (we do keep his nails clipped frequently). They are no longer waterproof anymore. The companys website stated that "many dogs have worn their Muttluks for over three years", but it only lasted just over a month for our dog. We never use them on dry pavement or concrete. We only use them to protect his feet from salt when theres snow. The boots are also not very easy to put on. It takes us about 10 min to put all of them on the dog. Great for dogs with sensitive feet I have a small terrier with extremely sensitive little feet. When she goes out into cold weather (anything lower than about 30 degrees), she can not stand or walk - she will fall down and not be able to move, let alone "do her business". I searched everywhere for boots that would keep her feet warm and dry so she could go outdoors in the wintertime. I tried several different types of dog boots and was always disappointed - they would fall off, snow would seep in and get the dogs foot wet, or they just wouldnt hold up well. My now 7 year old terrier has had her Muttluks for 4 years now and they are still as good as they were the day I got them. The boots keep her feet totally dry and warm when she goes outside. But best of all, they DONT fall off - which means I no longer have to run outside and dig through the snow looking for stray dog boots every time she goes outside. I also have peace of mind knowing that salt will not come in contact with her feet and cause irritation. Her feet stay clean and dry, even when her foot was bandaged following an injury, it stayed completely dry when she went outside wearing the boots. I also use the muttluks into the spring months when the snow starts to melt - it saves the floors from muddy footprints! She has gotten so used to them now that she doesnt even realize they are on. Most dogs dont like boots at first, so be sure to introduce them slowly and just keep trying them for small amounts of time. Its best to take the dog outside right away in the boots, that way they are distracted and not as likely to chew on them. Also, be sure to order the correct size for your dog - my terrier is about 30 pounds and she wears the xx-small size. I tried x-small with her because that was the recommendation for her breed and size, but the boots were too large, and they fell off. If the boots fit properly, they will NOT fall off! If they do fall off, send them back and try the next-smaller size. Great for dogs with sensitive feet I have a small terrier with extremely sensitive little feet.
