But, it held the quantity of water I needed for my dogs who stay outside during the day. The Le Bistro is my dream come true. I fill this jug up once a week and the dish is very easy to clean. Also, my small dog can drink out of the bowl without a problem, which was more difficult with my dopey planter. I am buying two more Le Bistros for other areas of my house. It does bubble while the dogs drink, but my two dogs overcame their hesitation pretty quickly, and one of them is extremely skittish. The key is to ignore them if they get scared and keep leading them to the dish after strenuous physical activity. Telling your dog "its okay" or petting them if they get spooked only intensifies the fear. It took probably 4 - 7 days for my dogs to ignore the bubbling completely. While the engineer in me is impressed at its simple function (and I should say that the product works perfectly), the dog owner in me is a bit disappointed. My two dogs nearly dehydrated out of fear of drinking from Le Bistro. When it refills, it makes a rather loud "glubburp" noise like from your office water cooler. This sends them running to all corners of the house fearing for their lives. I had to give up after 3 days when they would lick moist cement during walks just to get the water they so badly wanted. Hopefully your dogs have firmer constitutions than mine, but if theyre prone to fearing sudden noises, I would seriously reconsider purchasing this product.
