Trimming her nails was not easy. Sometimes I even hurt myself pinching my finger when the smaller clipper would snap through Arrows nails. An unpleasant event every time. Suspect most dogs nails are allowed to get too long because clipping is such a hassle. Been using these for about six months. Gradually Arrow has learned the clipping time is not fearful anymore. Dogs nails are thick and hard. These large cutters can build enough cutting force to cut fairly easily. Still need to line up the cutting edges so they cut up the nail with grain. Heard Dremmel electric drill is good at grinding dog nails down ($50?). Probably better but these clippers clip fast and pretty easy. Do need to keep the pivot screw snug so the cutting edges are tight. Now if I could just find a quality diamond file to smooth the cut edges........ |
