Worked well until my dog chewed it!

Ive finally learned my lesson. Today my dog chewed through her third Halti-- all while they were on her! She chewed through the last one in under a minute while I had my back to her tending to my daughter. I havent contacted the company about it, yet.

They work great but are NOT durable.

Worked Well Until My Dog Got Smart

This was the second Halti I purchased for two different dogs. The Halti worked very well with the first dog (a Staffordshire terrier). However, even though it was properly fitted to her head, the second dog (a bull terrier) figured out how to chew her way through the strap that went around her snout. Thank goodness for the safety loop! The companys "unconditional guarantee" does not cover this type of damage.

Halti is good fit for rough coat Collie

At the urging of my vet and several friends I bought the gentle leader (medium) for my 65 lb, 8 month old Collie. He accepted the nose band very quickly but adjusting it so that it wasnt too restrictive around his nose allowed it slide up into his eyes. He responded very well to the headcollar and stopped pulling immediately but it just didnt fit well over his large wedge-shaped nose, which is why I rated it a 3. I bought a Halti (size 2) one week later and it fit his head much better. Both head collars worked really well to stop the pulling but the Halti had a better fit for a Collie-shaped face. I will save the gentle leader to use with the Lab puppy I am getting in a few weeks.

i own a pit bull that becomes uncontrollable around other dogs and this halter fit her perfectly and she no longer lunges at other dogs (shes too busy trying to take it off). however it does look like a muzzle.
