![]() Advantage Topical Flea Treatment for Dogs over 55 Pounds (6 Applications) By: Advantage Average Rating: 4.5 Total Reviews: 11 More Information Better than Frontline Ive used Advantage for years on both cats and dogs and found it to be very effective for flea control. Last year I decided to try Frontline, even though it is more expensive than Advantage, because I read somewhere that Frontline also kills earmites. It may have got rid of the earmite but did not get rid of the fleas and my 3 big dogs still continue to scratch even after applying Frontline so from now on I will be switching back to Advantage. Got rid of the fleas! We have three dogs, and fleas have never been a problem until this year. We were told at our local PetSmart that there was a type of flea in our area that was resistant to most flea applications. The salesperson recommended Advantage or Frontline. I ordered the Advantage from Amazon and it arrived a few days later. Within a couple of days of applying the Advantage we couldnt find any fleas on any of the 3 dogs. It cost a lot less to order from Amazon than my vet would have charged, and worked just as well. Not as good as it used to be... In the "old days" before Advantage and Frontline became available it was the tiresome routine of wash the dogs, spray the house and lawn with noxious chemicals and repeat. It often took an entire Saturday. These drops were a blessing. Now the Advantage seems to be losing its effectiveness. My vet agrees, saying they need to tweek their formula. Ive started using Frontline one month, then Advantage the next month. Its the only way to keep fleas away. Still an Advantage User I have used Advantage on my dogs for 10 years. We do not have ticks where I live otherwise Id switch to Advantix. Since Advantage has worked fine for all my dogs, I see no reason to change. When I got my puppy I was given 2 coupon packs for Frontline. I gave those away because I am not going to switch. I do not want the dogs on different flea meds. So for me once an Advantage user, always and Advantage user. Still Scratching my head over Advantage We bought Advantage rather than Frontline or Advantix to save a couple bucks, and our 60lb hound stopped scratching for a bit, but she developed this really foul odor shortly after we applied it. Within 2 days the stink was so bad we had to bathe her. Its been a couple weeks now and shes scratching again and i can see flea dirt on her belly. Hopefully entirelypets.com has a good return policy. I think our Redbone will stick with Advantix instead... Work good for multiple smaller dogs and cats!! Save $!! Product works as expected. I get one dog and two cats out of the largest 4.0 ml dosage (>55lb dosage). The concentration is the same on this product regardless of the size. You just get more with the larger doses which can be used on your cats or other dogs as well. Note: Advantix and Advantage multi are for dogs only and should not be used on cats. Here is a link to cat dosages. lisaviolet.com/cathouse/advantage.html Saves a ton of $. Good luck. You will need something that measures to the 0.1ml. I use a good 1/2 or 1 ml syringe with the needle removed. It makes measuring and applying a snap. [...] Awesome Awesome product!!!! Have used it for years on my lab and have never had a problem. Plus, I have shopped all over the internet for the best price and Amazon has been the best priced plus offers free shipping. Advantage for dogs I live in Houston, TX and we have fleas year round. This is the only stuff that works!!! Frontline does not work down here, we must have bionic fleas!!! Great product, fast shipping! Advantage is great for dogs. This price I couldnt beat any where around my home! Its great! Fast shipping and great service! THANKS! Great Product This is a great product for getting rid of fleas. Have used several times on my German Shepherd and it works well. Does What It's Supposed To How much can be said about a multi-pack of chemicals to squirt on your dog? The Advantage flea control seems to work well. My dog doesnt seem to itch or scratch much at all. Certainly not as much as would be expected if he had fleas. We take him to a dog park on a regular basis, so he has plenty of opportunity to acquire some fleas, but so far...nothing. The 6 pack also saves money over getting fewer doses and Amazon has a good price on it. Does What It's Supposed To How much can be said about a multi-pack of chemicals to squirt on your dog?
