![]() Midwest Life-Stages 36-by-24-by-27-Inch Folding Double-Door Metal Dog Crate By: Midwest Average Rating: 4.5 Total Reviews: 32 More Information Excellent Product This is a well constructed product. Although a little large for our dog (a Cocker), it serves us well for the purpose we needed it for. Recommend highly. great book So for so good. i havent read the whole book, but I think its a great book so far The crate is good, the bottom tray is not so good We used this to keep 2 puppies full-time in from the age of 3 weeks up to 5-6 months and part-time now, when they are 8 months old. I have no major issues with the cage. It was relatively easy to unfold, the wires are strong and the 2 doors are most convenient. They allowed us to set it up in a such a way that one door was open against a regular dog house while the other door was the exit. This way, our 2 puppies had a 2-room apartment with the crate as the dining room/living room while the dog house was the bedroom. It worked well. The only issue I have is the bottom tray. While its convenient and allows for easy cleaning, the plastic is quite thin and, eventually it cracked. We are still using the crate and the dogs return to it to sleep at night - with the door open - but... the tray IS cracked and I expect it to completely fall apart within a month or 2. When that happens the crate will have no floor and well have to think of a solution. Love our Midwest Dog Crate We recently purchased a Midwest Life Stages Double Door folding crate for our new Labrador puppy and we truly love it. For the money it is durable and easy to set up. Prior to our purchase, we used a Midwest crate for our sons dog and it too was a wonderful crate. We would highly recommend this product to anyone. Worth every penny!! This crate is wonderful!! Having 2 doors is a great idea. It is large enough for my 6 year old Basset Hound to move around and be comfortable. She goes in willingly and sleeps through the night with no problem. It is very sturdy and there is a divider that can be used if you have a puppy that will adjust the size as the pup grows. No need to buy different sizes--this one will work for puppies as they grow into adult dogs. It is a snap to put together and folds easily for storage or travel. I would definitely recommend this crate to everyone. Midwest 1636DD Dog Crate Great product. The crate arrived earlier than expected for which I was grateful. It was very easy to assemble - no tools required! I had an old crate that I used when I first got my dog and it was one of the "hard sided" kind which did not allow for air flow. This Midwest crate is terrific. My dog can see everything going on and gets plenty of "fan breeze" from the room. It has 2 doors which will be useful when we travel and have to set up in a hotel room or at relatives. For a folding crate it is very sturdy. The only drawback I can think of is if you have an escape artist dog, he could probably figure out how to open the latch which just slides horizontally into place. My dog sleeps here each night and has never tried to get out. Shes much happier with this model. Convenient and highly recommended The dog crate was easy to assemble, easy to break down and carry. Double doors gives another option when positioning the crate. Divider is another positive feature. Most import, the puppy likes it (or at least we have convinced him he likes it). PERFECT!! Great quality. Sets up easily and quickly. Seems sturdy. Were keeping ours up, and putting stuff on top so we used "zip ties" to secure it. But Im not sure that was even necessary. Id buy stuff from this company again. good product I am very pleased with this crate. Easy to fold and unfold, double doors, sturdy and a great price. I have a Wheaten and this crate works great and will be so much easier to take on car trips. I highly recommend this crate. fast shipping, happy dawg Arrived much earlier than expected, and on super saver shipping. Thanks so much! My dog loves it. Good crate So far weve enjoyed this crate - very sturdy, easy to set up, and our dog seems to enjoy being inside Good Quality & Convenient Access We lent our extra cage to someone .... and could not remember who. Hope this sounds familiar to someone other than us! We were in need of a 2nd cage for a new puppy so we did not have to haul our one and only back and forth to our cottage. Im very glad we decided to keep the new cage at our home .... our older one is 25+ years .... the new one is a sporty up-dated model. I am pleased that it is very well made and very sturdy - and would recommend it! I have read some of the reviews about serious injuries to precious pets due to poorly made crates. I also like the two access points - one front and one on the side just in case you need to move it to another location. Our cage was delivered quickly with free shipping and a reasonable price .... a few other suppliers were a few dollars cheaper however, shipping costs were $22-$27 dollars. Our puppy "Gracie" is a 26 pound Boston terrier who is 8 months old still seems to be growing faster than any of other bostons and she has lots of room in the cage. We order a variety of items on a frequent basis from Amazon and we are pleased with price, delivery and customer service. Cage floor delivered broken... The product was delivered with a crack down the side of the plastic floor... However, since the floor still fit/worked properly, we decided not to send it back--too much of a hassle and we needed it immediately. dog crate well made. seem durable. the divider/life stage adapter is a dandy contraption for my new puppy. only complaint is that the thing is heavy, but i guess thats what makes it durable. Midwest 1636DD Metal Dog Crates I did my research before purchasing my metal dog crate and this was, by a significant degree, the best price-to-quality crate available. The Midwest 1636DD Life-Stages Folding Double-Door Metal Dog Crate is a great value. great product Great product, fast shipping (came a couple days after I ordered it with the standard shipping)Im glad I didnt pay like $50 more for faster shipping. i thought it was a good price compared to PetSmart, but Lowes has a kennel similar to this under $50. I never knew Lowes carried items like this until I saw one today. Satisfied Im very satisfied with this crate. It is sturdy and easy to assemble. Amazon saved me $$$ and delivered to my door. Good Purchase Really good crate. Easy to set up, nice black finish. The only thing you should know is that when you use the divider for a puppy it attaches to the middle of the crate on the side door which means you cannot open the side door. Still get it, worth the money. Best Crate Available! It is hard to feel comfortable purchasing a home for your pet that you can not see or feel. Yet, the prices compared to Petco or other retailers make you take a second look. The reviews helped me tremendously when picking this product. When I received it, it was a simple set up. My dog was just a puppy so the divider was an essential. The quality sets it self apart from others. It was made to last. I looked at other crates that seem to have the ability to rust and break down, but not this one. They really did a good job. I keep it inside my home and it always appears clean and aesthetically pleasing. The fold up option takes a little time, but we do not move it often. Overall, I am very pleased with this product, and do not think I will have to buy one anytime in the near future. This Was Made To Last! Dog Kennel This Product Was Good For My Pitbull She Has Space To Lay Down. So I Told My Sister To Get It For Her Dog So She Did. The Only Problem Was That The Hinges Pop Out And She Escaped. Very pleased with purchase The crate arrived quickly. It was easy to put together and works well for the money. Should have bought this first I love this kennel. Its built for big dogs and since mine is 45lbs going on 120, I am so glad I was able to find a kennel that will fit him a yr from now. Dont buy the kennel anywhere else, this is a steal with free shipping. Satisfied with crate, but..... We love the crate, the size is perfect, and the double doors are great. However the tray arrived with a crack it it. I notified the manufacturer immediately and they promised to send me a new tray but so far it hasnt arrived. I am still waiting for it. Great for a growing puppy! ** Simple to construct. ** Strong enough to withhold a puppy trying to claw & bite its way out of the crate (who said crate training was easy? ha ha! ** Love the 2 door option...comes in handy when youre trying to find a perfect spot in your house. ** Advice: cut the shipping box and put 2 layers under the tray (it will buffer the noise!) ** Not really portable cause its pretty heavy. ** Glad I bought it! Great! Wonderful product. Our Jack Russell Terrier loves it and feels comfortable. We created a minidoor in the divider by cutting a window through the middle of it so that we can place her doggy bed on one side and crate/housebreak train on the other side using newspaper on the flooring. She loves it and we definitely reccommend! MADE IN CHINA Midwests Life-Stages crates are made in China. General Cage manufactures crates in the USA. MADE IN CHINA Midwests Life-Stages crates are made in China. General Cage manufactures crates in the USA. very convenient our puppy really enjoys this crate - she has plenty of room to move around and lay down. it is so convenient that it folds up and can easily fit in the car trunk for trips. I am sure it would have been great.... I am sure that the dog crate that I bought from midwest would have been a great dog crate and would have worked wonderfully. the thing of it is that I never recieved the product.. of no fault of Midwest. They sent it FedEx, and FedEx lost it. Then said that it was delivered correctly even though I never got the dog crate. I would like to give a 5 star rating to Midwest on a great product and a quick turn around time from order to shipping, but a -10 star to FedEx for no delivery, bad customer service, and the fact that I am out 70 some odd dollars because they didnt have anyone sign for it. they said that because I ordered the crate on-line that this was my signature and they didnt need one on the other end saying that it was truely delivered. If at all possible I would like to urge whom ever is reading this to not use FedEx. life stages collaspable cage this cage is very convenient for travel and for daily kenneling. The bottom tray is made from a hard plastic coated metal. very durable. Two doors, one on front one on side is good for any location. Basic Necessity for a City Dog If you have a medium sized doggie and are looking for a crate because you live in an apartment, this particular model is a good choice. Crate training is amazingly simple (just dont use it for punishment--make it a happy experience when your puppy go into his crate). We have been using this for two months, and he takes to it easily. 1. Easy to put together and fold away. Solid black e-coat steel wire, conjoined with small metal plates with welded corners facing out. It comes with a slightly smaller divider that you can hook to the insides of the crate. As our puppy got bigger, we moved the divider and eventually removed it. 2. The two doors (one on the long end is off-centered) are not removable and opens only one way so its not omni-directional when you place it in tight spaces. You may want to check out some crates with three doors if so. 3. The bottom tray is made of black-composite plastic material, easy to wipe clean and slide out from under the short end of the door. 4. I like the double latch, but some people may find it a little more work to open and close day-to-day. 5. If you buy a crate cover, check out Cratewear Pet Dreams 3-Piece (which fits this model well, but only work with the door on the short end). 6. For this price, its a good crate to highly consider because your goal is to have a sanctuary for your puppy (for time out and quiet-time) and to housebreak your dog and/or temperate from negative behavior (such as chewing furniture, etc.) I hope this review is helpful for you. Nice, sturdy crate, easy to set up, inexpensive I purchased this crate from Petsmart for my newly adopted dog. They size these crates based on dog weight, but I would measure your dog to make sure they fit. My dog is less than 45 lbs, but his head touches the top of this crate when he sits up. He has room to lay down, but he cant really stretch out. I am ordering the next size up from Amazon for him however, and will use this one as a travel crate. It set up in less than a minute, and everything works very well on it. The crate seems very sturdy and Ive had no problems at all. Great crate I bought this crate for my 30-lb beagle/terrier mix dog and its great. It folds up in a cinch (its literally 3 steps and takes about 10 seconds max) and has carry handles on the side, so its really easy to transport. I like having the 2 doors so I have options of how I can place the crate in a room. There are latches on the top and bottom of each door so its very secure. Great crate!
