It is such a pity that the medium size in these crates is no longer available. For some reason - known only to themselves - the manufacturers of this carrier - have chosen to replace a well made, strong dog carrier - with a plastic, breakable piece of junk. The large one is still available but the most popular the medium is no longer - and it leaves me amazed that they would downgrade rather than improve and already excellent dog carrier.

The Nylabone carrier was recommended to me by a Hollywood animal actor trainer. Im very impressed with its flexibility, ease of set up and convenience.

We purchased the Nylabone medium sized carrier (two of them) to take our cats with us to Egypt. They were suitable for use on airlines and was accepted by Lufthansa. The cats arrived safe and sound.

We purchased this carrier because I know Nylabone products are well-made. However, I later discovered that foldaway carriers are not accepted on domestic or international airlines. If you need a carrier that you can use to transport your animal -- other than on an airline-- it seemed sturdy and handy. However, if you plan on traveling by air, this carrier will not work for you. The box states that it meets most airline standards with a separate airline travel kit, which we could not get from Nylabone as they said this was an old model. But, when we checked with the carriers, none said they would accept foldaway carriers. However, Amazon (and Pet Smart) were very responsive to us returning the product since it did not meet our needs.
