![]() Contech Water Dog Automatic Pet Fountain By: WaterDog Average Rating: 3.0 Total Reviews: 8 More Information Ron W Bought this for a cat that loves to drink water from a garden hose. After forgetting to turn water off a few times I started looking for somethink like this. It works great. Easy to train- even for a cat 2 paws up Great Idea But Poorly Design We bought ours from Pet Smart. It is a really great idea and worked well for the first 3 weeks, then water began leaking through the battery compartment. Luckily, our dog did not get sick from the rusty overflow of water! I will wait until the design has been improved to buy another one. Works well, not perfectly suited for small dogs Product works well and is easy to install. It is powered by four "C" batteries; too bad it doesnt come with an AC adapter/jack for customers with power outlets nearby to save on batteries. Also, the mounting pole is too short, so if you have small dogs (or puppies) and your water faucet is mounted on the side of the house, the WaterDog wont reach low enough to sense your dogs. Replacing the mounting pole with a short length of 3/4" PVC pipe will easily fix this problem, though. All in all, a very good product that works reliably. Disappointed owner and dog For the last 4 years I have had to purchase a new unit- they last for the 3 months of summer and then they burn out! My dogs love them so I have purchased a new one each year at their request......Why dont they make a product that works? Why isnt there any competition for this type of product? VERY DISAPPOINTED this device does not last This unit works great for 2-3 months, but then it fails. I have had very frustrating experience with this device for I bought 5 units so far since it came out on market. Everytime, the unit stopped functioning(or water kept on coming out without anything present). Although it broke everytime, I kept on buying a new one because my dogs love this. But now, I give up. Really, this unit works fot the first 2-3 months, and thats it. InSunnySouthernCalifornia Our dog loved the WaterDog and learned to use it very quickly. It started to malfunction within 3 months of installation; we just disconnected it and called their customer service - they promised to send us a replacement. dogs like cold water in summer :) We loved our waterdog, and so did our dogs - it didnt take long at all for them to figure out how to trigger the unit to dispense water, and it was nice cold water straight from the faucet. Our only mistake was leaving it on the faucet in the winter. It got too cold, cracked one of the pieces and started leaking. However their customer service was great, and they sent us a replacement part at no charge. WOrthless Dogs never could figure it out, did not fit our faucet well, would only dispense water when at one exact angle. Not worth the money by any means |
