This dog food is so low quality and unhealthy its like us eating potato chips for our whole life. Stay FAR away from any dog food that has corn, unknown meat sourses or by products.
My dogs love this food     On: 2008-01-22

My dogs love this food. My older dog would never finish any dog food she had in her bowl, we tried Iams, and varous other hard dog foods. We mixed it with soft can food, olive oil, eggs, etc. No matter what we tried she never finished the bowl. As soon as we tried this, she ate it all and has been ever since. She has finally put on weight and reached her optimal size. My entire family feeds their dogs this food and they all love it too. Great food and great price.
The Beneful brand is one to avoid     On: 2007-02-18

This foods product description says the kibble "...even looks like real food!" Unfortunately, thats where the similarity to healthy sustenence ends.

Ingredients are listed in descending order--meaning the higher up on the list an ingredient is, the more there is in the food itself. Note the ingredients. The first and third are CORN. Its cheap for the manufacturers and it tastes good to your dog. However, a healthy canine diet shouldnt be based on it! It can be hard to digest, and has questionable nutritional value. Its also a common allergen in many dogs.

Then, note the second ingredient: chicken by-products. This tends to be a catch-all term for cheap, low-quality chicken parts, and you never know what youre going to get. Organs are good. Feet, heads, and intestines, not so much. Read labels! Specificity is key!

Beef tallow is the fifth ingredient. Tallow is a nice name for SATURATED FAT. It may taste yummy, but its just as bad for dogs as it is for us humans.

Avoid this food at all costs. It may be cheaper than premium brands, but in the long run itll cost you in vet bills...not to mention your best friends health.
