Product works in the time frame and as adverstised. Doesnt seem to affect the taste of puppys food. I feel better knowing that I am taking good care of him and people lavish compliments on him! Very happy! DO NOT USE THIS PRODUCT!  On: 2008-06-27Angels Eyes did not help the tear stains on my Maltese. When I got him at four months old, he had a little bit of staining, but nothing terrible. Once he started teething about a month later, it got really bad. I spent $60 on the Angel eyes because the reviews on here were good, and the breeder recommended it as well. I followed the instructions verbatim for three months, and nothing happened. It was a total waste of money, and I found out a secret from my groomer who agreed Angel Eyes is garbage. Dilute Hydrogen Peroxide with water, and rub it with a cotton ball on the tear stains. Then put a little vasoline on the spot so the tears roll off the fur, and do not settle in. I do it once in the morning and once at night, and his tear stains are completely gone. It also helps to keep the hair by the eyes short and clean. BOTTOM LINE, this product is not healthy to use long term(according to my dogs vet) and there are other more cost-effective alternatives available (the bottle of Peroxide was 75 cents at the drugstore!). no improvement after 3 months On: 2008-06-26Although this product was expensive, the reviews were great so we thought we should give it a try. After 3 months I see no improvement at all. Sure, if you cut off the stained hair the new hair is lighter - for awhile- and then the stains come back even while continuing Angel Eyes. I have a 9 month Maltese, and we even took her to the vet to make sure she didnt have an infection or other problem that was causing the problem and he assured us that she didnt. Nope, I wouldnt waste any more money on this product. angels eyes works great On: 2008-06-25I have a shih tzu and her white face was always stained brown from her tears and saliva. I can not believe the difference with the angels eyes. Ive tried all kinds of shampoos and nothing worked. This is a bit pricey...but if you could see the difference in my dog, even people who come to my house notice. The one thing I will say is you have to give it time. It was a good month or two before we saw the marked difference. I wish I had taken a before and after picture! We had taken her to our vet and he had given us some pills for her to take, another vet gave us some liquid that she took twice aday, nothing worked, we were at our wits end and then my groomer told me about a product she had been hearing good things about, Angel Eyes. We have seen almost an immediate change. The stains are almost gone now, thanks to this product. We think after her next groom she will be stain free. He doesnt like the taste though, so I have to mix it with soft cheese or baby food to give it to him, since it is in powder form. I give it to him a few times a month for maintenance. He has been taking it (powder mixed with food)for 2 months, and after a haircut, almost all of the discoloration is gone. I like that the frequency of treatment decreases over time (starts daily, changes to 4x per week and after a few months 1x per week). I would recommend this product to other pet owners. On: 2008-05-31I bought this for my Tri-color Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, when I bought him at 12 weeks of age, he had noticeable tear stains, his coat as I said is tri-color, but underneath his eyes is white, so the tear stains were a reddish brown in color and it caused distractions in the beauty of his face. I started out with Angels eyes put in his food. HE WOULD NOT EAT THE FOOD, I tasted the stuff and it was bitter as could be, so no wonder he didnt like it. I called Angels eyes and told them I had tried it in his food and water as well (they say in directions to put in food OR water) the rep told me to try mixing it with Peanut butter, well THAT WORKED! I Started him off with the recommended DAILY amount for his weight,age, etc. i have since gone down to 4 times a week as they recommend after 4 months of daily use. Well for some time now the stains have ALL DISAPPEARED and Cavaliers are NOT to have their coat or hair cut in ANY FASHION so I didnt have to ever have them cut away. Works very well On: 2008-05-27I was desperate to get my white toy poodles stained eyes to stay away. He was so cute except for these ugly stains around his eyes. He had stains so bad, kids on the street always asked me what was wrong with his eyes. I purchased different products but it was always a waste of money. I heard about different things from Tums to organic dog food to help it. Nothing worked. Cleaning the stains with peroxide on a Q-tip helped a little, but it made me so nervous.I was afraid it would get in his eyes. Finally we tried Angel eyes and it worked. The reddish tearing has pretty much stopped. The only problem is that she does not like the taste, so she wont eat it sprinkled on her food. I have to mix it in applesauce and feed it to her. (So now her chin is crusty!) The product does what it says it does, though, and I will continue to use it. I even think that it is not only eliminating the tear stains, but also brightening and softening their coats. Angels' Eyes Tear-Stain Eliminator On: 2008-05-09I had purchase this product for my dog a while ago and it seemed to work on eliminating the tear stains on his white fur. The second and third bottle that I purchased didnt seem to work at all. I am following the directions and I give it to him everyday as instructed. I dont know if the problem would worse without using this product, but it certainly isnt good with it. The first bottle that I purchased, I purchased directly from the manufacturers website and the cost was almost double. Through Amazon, I saved a considerable amount of money, but isnt working. I used it religiously for six months, but did not notice a significant difference in his eye discharge or tear staining. On: 2008-03-28We tried a lot of different methods to deal with the problem of "poodle-eye" and this stuff actually works. Its a brown powder that you sprinkle on the food and the dog eats it. He really does. We noticed results just before the end of the first week (probably not typical) and its been getting even better. Costly, a little. But its worth it. It really works! Angel Eyes Tear Stain Eliminator for Dogs & Cats On: 2008-03-15Angel Eyes is a bit strong for my dogs taste. The directions call for 3/4 of a teaspoon added to food but the smell is overwhelming. We have decreased the dosage to 1/4 of a teaspoon once a day and the dog no longer notices the smell of the product. She eats her food without any reaction to the Angel Eyes powder. Her eye stains have definitely improved. Since she is a white cockapoo the stains were very noticeable. Now she is nearly stain free and she looks well-groomed. We have tried a number of other liquid products to cleanse the stains without seeing any improvement. Now with Angel Eyes she is nearly 100% stain free, even with the decreased dosage. By far the best product that we have tried. Miracle Powder On: 2008-03-13I have been using Angel Eyes for about 2 months now and I am amazed at the difference. I have a 1 1/2 year old Maltese who has problems with his eyes and we have tried many products to no avail. My vet mentioned this product and we have had no red staining since. It only took about 2 weeks to start noticing a difference and each time he is groomed we lose more and more of the previous staining. I cant wait until he is completely clear. He still tears but they are no longer red. This is not the cheapest product but if you want WHITE you will get it! Amazing On: 2008-03-08Taken as directed, this product really does work to clear up tear stains. For very stubborn tear stains, try switching your pets food to a no-grain food to help the process along. This advice came from the company itself. They were very helpful with my questions when I called them. Works Wonders On: 2008-03-05This product works wonders. I have two maltese, both of which have extremely bad tear stains. My two year old maltese had a clean white face when we bought him, but after only a few days, ugly brown stains showed up on his face. I tried Eye Envy (you had to actually clean their face with some herbal smelling green liquid, then put powder on their face) but that was too much work with very little change. I used tear stain cleaners from PetCo etc. but those only helped lighten the tear stains, and only after you washed their face. Leave it alone for a few days and they were back. Finally, after endless searching, I found the website for Angels Eyes and decided to try it. It is a powder that you just sprinkle on their food (I use it with soft food) and it WORKS! Just after three days, I noticed a change. Now, both of my dogs are tear stain free, and after a while, you can start lowering the dosage so you dont go through so many bottles. It is a bit pricey, but the price I found here was a deal. About $40 for a 120 gram bottle... cheapest Ive found for such a great product. Note: I am in no way affiliated with Angels Eyes. On: 2008-03-01In reading reviews on Angel Eyes my concern was that it made some dogs sick, so I got my Vets OK then followed a reviewers suggestion of incorporating the product into little meatballs. I made a months supply by measuring Angel Eyes into lean ground turkey calculating the number of small meatballs to get the appropriate dosage. (I used one dosage less than recommended on the bottle). I blended it well, baked them and refrigerated a weeks supply, freezing the rest. My bichon loves getting 1 a day as a treat, and the tear stains stopped almost immediately. Although she has a sensitive tummy, there has been no vomiting. I look forward to reducing the dosage eventually to only 2/wk. Great product because it really works! great for maltese tear stains! Does improve tears stains On: 2008-02-27We tried Angels eyes for our all white and fluffy Maltese puppy because she was so adorable and cute, but her tear stains were terrible. It definately improved the staining. I ran out of Angels eyes and did not reorder right away, not sure of how much it had really helped, and it amazed me how much worse the staining got. We are back on Angels eyes now and they do seem better, but not gone completely. I am hoping with continued use they will get better and better. Excellent product On: 2008-02-26A while ago I received a powder from my groomer that eliminated eye stain - it worked so well but they charged $20 for a 2 week supply. I have been searching for something similar. I bought this product in hopes that it would work in a similar way. The product was a bit pricy and when I got the jar I thought it would not last long. But that is not the case. You use so little of it each time that it lasts for a very long time --- and its worth every penny. My Maltese is so adorable but has the brown drainage coming from her eyes which has stained the hair on her face. I started using Angels Eyes and within a week her eyes began to clear up. It has been about a month since I have been using it and the difference in her eyes and facial hair is amazing. I had her groomed and they removed all of the stained hair. I had tried every single type of tear stain removers from wipes, gels, eye drops etc to changing her diet,giving her only bottled water but nothing worked. Amazing results On: 2008-02-19This is an amazing product. My white cockapoo had ugly dark heavy tear stains that I could not wash off. I have used this product for a month now. Her hair has grown out enough that I have been able to cut away all the old stains. She now has a beautiful white face. You have to use it every day on their food. I forgot one day after three weeks and she had the beginning of the stain the next morning. My vet did not know about this product but the cockapoo breeder told me about it (and she is a vet too) so I feel good about using it. Great Product!! I waited 1 week and repeated the 1/2 spoon dosage and again he got sick. I am returning this product to Amazon, there is something wrong with it, according to my vet. Angel's Eyes - For Dogs On: 2008-02-09I purchased this product for my 2 year old Pomeranian. Naturally, I was a bit skeptical. Ive been using the product for about 2 months now. WOW, we started noticing a drastic decrease in tears within a couple of days. It just got better and better and does appear to be working! Pomeranians are notorious for always being teary and the stains that trailed down to his cheeks are practically completely gone. He might have a little bit of salt looking crusty here and there but just in the corners of his eyes, about like when we wake up after a little sandman visit, but that is really it. I give him the recommended dose on the bottle and so far its been working great and he does not even seem to notice it sprinkled in his food. On: 2008-02-08Ive been putting this powder on my bichon frises food for a few months now, skipping a few days here and there, and really only a little bit of powder (since its so expensive), and its made a HUGE difference in his appearance! I am very, very pleased with this product, it really does work and his face is now almost completely white. No more ugly brown stains all over his beard! I think hes not tearing as much, or at least its just not noticeable anymore. Others have noticed the change too. Excellent product - lives up to its claims! On: 2008-02-08This product really does work! We have a 10 mo. old shihtzu/bichon cross puppy who had terrible tear stains. A friend of mine told me about this product as they have a shihtzu puppy. I originally bought the small size bottle because I figured that if Oscar didnt like it, we wouldnt be out much money. However, I dont think he even notices that its on his food in the morning! (Ive heard that some dogs dont care for the taste.) I am thoroughly amazed at how well this product works. It took about a month for the stains to no longer appear. Now hes tear-stain free! Oscar is mostly white with dark grey ears and light grey spots. The tear stains really showed up on his face prior to using Angel Eyes. My 5 lb poodle had gooey tear stains that I was always cleaning with Angel Eyes wipes. The wipes gave temporary relief, but the stains just came back again. Our groomer recommended this product and in two short weeks, the staining stopped completely. I mix 1/8 teaspoon of the powder into each meal, and she eats it without hesitation. It Really Works!!! On: 2008-01-20Our Poodle/Chihuahua mix had very runny eyes and red stained fur which gets very smelly. I was about to see a specialist and look in to surgery but I found Angels Eyes. I was skeptical but tried it. It really does work. You just have to follow the instructions. Once you get going with it you just have to find the right maintenence dose and stick to it. If you stop you will be back to the same old problem. My dog likes the taste of it so I dont have a problem with him eating it on his regular food. I decided to try this product. I gave him the smallest dose listed. Two days after I started using it he developed "cherry eye". When I took him to the vet she showed me that He had it in both eyes and he would need surgery to fix it. She then told me that he had very dry eyes. I told her about the Angel eyes and she said that is what dried his eyes out. I feel horrible that my vanity to stop the tear stains caused my poor puppy to have surgery. I am not sure that I would spend the money again on this product. I have been told by a breeder to use mink oil and proxcide on the fur. I am a breeder of poodles and poodle hybrids and this product has been a lifesaver for me. Within 2 weeks my cream poodle stud had a nice clean, stain free face. This product is awesome and I will never be without it again. Tip: If your dog is on dry food only (no cans) then make him/her treats that you can add this powder to. I make "meatballs" for my poodle stud and add the correct amount of powder to each meatball while they cook. I then bag them 7 to a bag and freeze them. I pull one bag a week from the freezer and feed one meatball as a treat per day. Easy way to feed this product and he/she thinks they are getting a special treat! He was a mess and had purple staining around his eyes and mouth. I have never experienced all that goes along with a poodle and thought proper care would help. Not so! Works great, but made my dog sick On: 2007-12-16This product does work very well, that is why I was disappointed when my dog started vomiting after two weeks of using this stuff. My blessing is a pound doggy, a dark gray & white Shih Tzu, weve named Angel (not because of the product, that was pure irony). It is not a cure, in fact, discontinuing use allowed the tear staining to return. However, since I resumed the regiment, her eyes and overall coat is clearly healthy. She us a finicky eater, but this powder is easily accepted. Knowing the product works, when I reordered, I selected the larger size. It appears to have been exposed to some moisture as it is rock hard and has to be chipped apart.Should have compplained and sent it back, but, it still works and this is the first time Ive had a moment to anything. Angels eyes are clear. Would love to send the before and after pictures again, they never got posted. It works! On: 2007-12-12I used this on my blond and white long haired chihuahua and got results. I then discontinued it while she was pregnant. Later she and the pups developed the stains again. Within a few days of adding it to their food, I began to see lightening around the eyes. Angel's Eyes, it works On: 2007-12-11It works great for my Bichon, and my Cocker, the Angels Glow product is bitter and I had to mix it with water or sneak it in with baby food, but the Angles Eyes has the magic ingredient just like Angle Glow but it is mixed with liver extract and the dogs will eat it by itself. The basic problem is red yeast and you must keep up the treatment, but you can taper off the amount in time, just follow the instructions. The 120 gram bottle is $80 plus tax at most pet stores and Vets. This is a bargain. It works! On: 2007-12-07My white Bijon was turning pink on her face. On: 2007-11-24Ive been using the product on my lhasa apso male since March so roughly 8-9 months. The red staining did go away at an expensive cost. It would run approximately $60 each month to use the product daily to not develop anymore red stains. While the red stains were not growing in, a strange odor was coming on. I cant begin to describe what the smell is. Its not a normal B.O. smell, but its quite horrific. Its so bad my friends shoo my dog away and mock him for the smell. The area around the eyes is still wet and leaves the fur almost glued like hairspray, but yet its not red, hooray? Their eyes have not improved much. Maybe a little but to little to tell. For the cost of this product its easier to go to the vet and get a prescription that will do the same thing. The best non-prescription product on the market for tear stains On: 2007-11-21When I first bought my Maltese puppy I was elated. He was so adorable. Then came the tear stains which I wasnt expecting. I spoke to my Veterinarian about it and did find out that is was common for Maltese to have clogged tear ducts and my puppy did. After the tear ducts were opened I still had some problems with the stains but not as severe. I then heard that Tetracycline was good for this and the stains cleared right up. Being a nurse, I didnt want to keep my dog on an antibiotic forever and the I heard about "Angel Eyes". Since then, I have gotten another Maltese and I use it on both of them and I have no problems with tear stains as long as I continue to use the product. If you are a person that likes their dogs to look nice and not be faced with the red tear stains on their face, may I suggest you use this product. Good Product but not Overnight Wonder On: 2007-11-20I have a 10 month old purebred Bichon Frise. Only one of her eyes waters a little. The watering began when she was teething and loosing her baby teeth. Any watering on a pure white dog will stain no matter how much you clean it. I gave the lowest recommended dose to her on top of her food. Her appetite did not change. (However, the powder does get in her hair- which Bichons have a lot of, so I will sprinkle a little water on top to make it stick to the food better.)After 2 months and 2 monthly hair trims (which is a must for Bichons), my babies eyes are BOTH white now. I am starting to give this to her every other day and try to wean her off of it. So far, the stains have not come back. BEFORE giving this to your dog I would recommend the following: #1- Check their diet for dyes, beets, or by-products. Awesome! On: 2007-11-19This really worked for us. Almost didnt buy it due to what seemed like a costly item. Our bichon tears a lot and has very dark stains under his eyes. He looks like a different dog. We mix it in his dry food and he licks the bowl clean. Took about 3 weeks to notice any difference, and after his grooming he looked like a new dog. AFTER 2 WEEKS THE TEARING/STAINING IS JUST ABOUT GONE. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT. It Works! On: 2007-11-14Ive been using this product for about 1 month and simply put the product REALLY works! No iffs ands or butts about it. I dont even use it at the full strength recommended either. I use about 50-60 of the recommended amount. My one recommendation to anyone looking to use this is product is not mix this into the pets water either (as the bottle recommends). My reason why is that the product will simply float in the water (even if you put it in the bowl and then add the water). Then if your pet doesnt drink all of their water the product becomes wasted. Instead I take a Tablespoon of wet dog food (my dog is on 100% dry food so this now becomes a treat for him) and mix the product in with that instead with a spoon. My dog eats it all up in a matter of seconds and gets all of the product also. My dog still tears daily, but now the color is clear instead of red. My friends and family have also notices the difference too. Lastly, I have noticed that once I skipped more than 2 days (if I forgot to give it too him) at this point in time the red stains started to come back. So I recommend that you dont miss more than one day until the bottle recommends that you move to a new feeding schedule, else you too will probably see this too. Again, I highly recommend this item. Total Problem Solver On: 2007-10-24This stuff does exactly what it says. Weve been using it for three weeks and our maltipoos face is now 90% tear stain free. Caspian did not like Angels Eyes sprinkled on his dog food, and refused to eat it. However, being the dominant species, we came up with a solution. I was a complete skeptic, but noticed a huge difference in my friends dog after using Angels Eyes for only one month. After two months of daily use my dogs both have no tear stains. Their faces are still slightly peach from old staining, but the new growth is white! In addition, my female Maltese always licked her feet and had pink feet (so cute), but her feet are now completely white. My dogs no longer have goop around their eyes, although my male still has clear tears and moist fur around his eyes. My dogs hate the taste so I have to mix it with some moist food. I dont add it to their food or water because they wont eat or drink then. I give them each a little spoon of wet dog food with the powder mixed in as a daily treat. I give them each a little less than 1/8 tsp. daily and they weigh 5.5 and 6.5 lbs. This is less than half the daily recommendation, but it still works. I would recommend purchasing the 120g bottle, because I used the 30g bottle in less than a month. Why not treat the problem internally, versus trying to cover it up with topical treatments? I saw a definite improvements within two weeks. I have been using this product for almost two months now, and my poodles eyes are completely clear. No red stains. She also needs less frequent baths. She used to smell after just a few days, now it takes a few weeks for her to need a bath. My dog has allergies, I was a little concerned about this supplement, but there were no problems. The only thing I noticed is that during the first few weeks her feces were black, now they are back to normal. She is 8 pounds and the recommended dosage is 1/2 a teaspoon a day for three months. Shes a cream colored poodle so the red tear stains were always very apparent. Since Ive been giving her the supplement Ive noticed a considerable difference. Her eyes still get a little weepy every now and again but Im confident that with continued use shell only improve. The only downside is that even though Angels Eyes is liver flavored, my puppy doesnt seem to like it very much. If i put it in with her breakfast shes sure to finish it before the end of the day but she definitely doesnt attach her food with the same gusto. It could just be that my dog is exceptionally picky. On the plus side, the supplement doesnt make her sick, (she has a weak stomach and tends to throw up just about anything that isnt her regular kibble). All in all, I would definetly recommend this product to anyone with a light colored puppy who has problems with unsightly tear stains. Angel's Eyes On: 2007-04-10This product really works. I have been giving it to my Cavachon dog now for a month and the staining is gone. You have to trim away the stained hair, but the new hair is stain free. The only draw back for some, might be the cost. I think its worth it. Too easy!!! On: 2007-03-09After owning 2 white dogs. I finally found something that works. Best of all I dont have to think about using it. I keep it by their food, add it and its done!!! No tear stains!!! Just very cute dogs!!! Angel Eyes On: 2007-01-04This product did not quite meet all of my needs as far as completely eradicating the stains as other products do. The product however was very palatable for my dog. After the use of the entire bottle(over a period of a couple of months or so), my little girl still had some stains unfortunately. |
